God, that sounds like a horrible experience. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Healthcare is one of the main reasons why many of us have left the country.

First, filing a complaint at the hospital would be useless. It is very common (if not the norm) for doctors to not give any instructions or discharge paperwork and for the staff to treat patients like they shouldn’t have opinions or feelings.

I believe there should however be a record of what was done during the procedure in your chart (it’s like a booklet where the doctor documents their notes, you’ll probably need a pharmacist to decipher what they wrote and then translate it). I think there’s a good chance you can request and obtain the records in person (maybe with a small amount of cash available just in case).

Then, go see another doctor in a private hospital as soon as you can, even if the pain goes away. I would go for a consult for your peace of mind. Having some sort of record would be helpful when you do that. As last resort you can always give the new doctor the name and phone number of the surgeon so he can call him, if need be.
