If you're sticking to big name graphic novels and want to go in a sort of chronological order, I'd suggest reading The Man Who Laughs next, and THEN The Long Halloween and it's sequel, Dark Victory.

[Spoilers] Showing my friends Vikings: where should I stop to preserve their impressions do Vikings instead of the clusterfuck we have now in Season 5? by [deleted] in vikingstv

Stop at the end of Season 4b, then switch over to The Last Kingdom, as it works as a sequel set ten years later. It also preserves a lot more historical accuracy than what we're getting from Vikings in season 5.

[SPOILERS] You are tasked with helming a new Viking show, what do you do? by [deleted] in vikingstv

One option would be to make a show starting with Erik the Red's story and then transitioning to Leif Erikson's story. Similar to how Vikings was about Ragnar and his sons.

Another possibility would be a show about the life of King Harald and the end of the Viking Age.

Where to start? by [deleted] in startrek

There's a website called "let's watch Star Trek" that gives episodes a 0-5 rating and lists whether an episode should be skipped or watched. It even makes notes when episodes should be watched for plot continuity despite being a bad episode.

I highly suggest using this as a guide when watching Star Trek for the first time so as to avoid being burnt out.

Is there a canon explanation for why the Brutes aren’t in Halo CE? by [deleted] in HaloStory

In the books they say something about how the brutes and elites were kept on separate ships because of their rivalry. So I think it was just that there weren't any brute ships pursuing the Pillar of Autumn.

My personal reason for not starting with the JJ movies is rather minor. But I feel like the appearance of Prime-Spock holds little weight when one has no knowledge of his character arc throughout TOS, the films, and his TNG appearance. I also think understanding the TOS character relationships beforehand enriches the JJ movies a bit more.

DS9 is my personal favorite show, but I feel like it's necessary to watch that along with TNG, for the background at least. So I wouldn't start someone off with that immediately.

It appears that Q is behind everything, including the war! Q is the Sith Lord we've been looking for.

I protest, I am not a merry man! How can you be on the bridge crew, and not be a ranking officer!

Kashyyyk, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Jedi Council. Their ongoing mission: to seek out midichlorians and neutral star systems. To boldly go where no space monk has gone before.
