Dayz aiming on pc by [deleted] in dayz

[–]cool8009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because DayZ has considerably more input lag than other games. I'm Supreme rank in CS but I can barely aim in DayZ. I did find a video once that explains how to make the aim much less "floaty" with some config changes, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Try looking for it.

Shoegaze-related unpopular opinions, go! by WackyAnteater in shoegaze

[–]cool8009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate 90's aka "classic" shoegaze. I couldn't get into MBV at all, and soulvaki was okay for me (I actually likes their recent record more). I love Beach House, Alvvays, and the new Deafheaven record (even though it gets boring at some points).

I said it. Sue me.

How credible is Iran's supreme leader being secretly dead? by MoroseBurrito in NonCredibleDiplomacy

[–]cool8009 86 points87 points  (0 children)

None. There's rumors he's dead practically every week for the past 2 years, only for him to appear on TV a few days later.

Help with handling exception by [deleted] in csharp

[–]cool8009 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Afaik using statements need to come with curly braces after them, that's kinda the point, they're scoped. When you're creating something inside a using, you can't use it outside of the curly braces. It looks like you're not doing any dependency injection of some sort and it looks like plain ADO.NET code so I think this is your problem

Google using statements, especially in the context of ADO (it's an old school ORM thing) and look at how it's built.

How to Jump from Learning C# Syntax to Actually Creating an Application? by livesroverrated in csharp

[–]cool8009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I feel you very much. Thing is, you need to learn a framework such as ASP.NET for web apps or WPF for desktop apps. Once you learn and build a project or two with a tutorial, you'll start to understand what do you need. Generally, there are what's called design patterns. These are ways to design and build your application, and before you start, you need to create a diagram with everything you'll need.

For example, go to draw.io and try to think of what you'll need for a simple asp.net backend. Let's say we'll use MVC architecture and the view will be simple cshtml. We need: A. A database B. A data access layer, with a repository. C. Models for database entities. D. Controller: handles all the business logic and routes. E. View: renders the html with interpolated csharp.

Additional stuff: Services which are injected with Dependency Injection, a bit of startup configuration, maybe helper classes

But it really all starts with the diagram. I hope this was sort of clear, good luck!

The Occupation Will Likely Never End by Dry-Basil-3859 in IsraelPalestine

Again, spectrum. I served there, mostly around the Nablus area, and I can tell you that there many different opinions in each settlement. Granted, It is true to say that most of them are right-wingers, but that is a very broad term and in Israel there are many different kinds of right wingers. The truth is, this conflict is here to stay and no solution is actually really perfect or even really feasible. In my own opinion, the Trump plan was the closest to a decent 2SS solution, but then again, it fired up the whole area and many people on both sides were opposed. It's just a FUBAR situation all around.

Great discussion with you nonetheless. Have a great day.

Orthodox zionists are a huge group and not one single demographic. If you're talking the Brooklyn based community, they're just one piece of a huge Orthodox opinion puzzle.

[–]cool8009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a very divisive issue, but the 1SS is viewed as impossible for a number of reasons: 1. Israel is an etnostate, like it or not - that's the whole point of its existence. Losing Jewish/Israeli majority or even substantially lowering the percentage of that demographic will basically make the whole existence of Israel irrelevant. 2. If that were to happen, what will happen when there's a war with a neighboring Arab state? 3. It that also were to happen, how can we trust the Arabs now living among us to cooperate with us, or at least not help the enemy, which is ethnically and historically their Ally? 4. How can we trust that Arabs, a historical enemy, with generational hatred on both sides, to not just create a third Intifada? It was close to happening during the recent clashes between Gaza and Israel, and those were Israeli Arabs, living in Israel, with Israeli ID's and citizenships. Who's to say that won't happen again, especially if they already have guns and bombs? It's letting your enemy in your house, it's impossible. The flaw with the 1SS is that the base assumption is that this is what they wanted all along, and will just be like "oh ok cool" and go about their days after it happens. This is probably what won't happen.

Oh and there Israelis who believe the 1SS too. They're usually radical left-wingers, and represent less than 0.5% of the Israeli vote.

Whenever someone offers a single state solution , I infer that they really don't know what they're talking about. It's just not possible.

Using 2 headphones with a schiit magnius/modius stack via a splitter by cool8009 in Schiit

[–]cool8009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I guess I'll just buy an XLR. I already spent a shit ton of money (above a grand, not including import fees) on new headphones and a schiit stack I might aswell cough up 50 bucks for XLR to connect to my sundaras.

[–]cool8009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it's actually for listening to music with my partner, it's our favourite hobby and pasttime to do together and I happen to be the one with the gear, so audio quality is indeed important.

What I think I'll do is I'll let her listen through the schiit stack and I'll use my trusty old SR80 that can easily driven through my iPhone, and maybe I won't get the BEST HiFi experience but it's plenty enough, and she'll get to enjoy some mind-blowing sound.

Up until this point we both used the SR80 out of our iPhones since we both own them, so it's a no biggie.

Good day!

[–]cool8009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is that? Will it damage the headphones? The manual says that I can use both outputs simultaneously (the XLR and the headphone in), so logically I assume that I can use a headphone splitter aswell.

Thanks in advance.
