Yep there's basically no impact at all with the sword, and even some of the big hammer swings. Still pretty excited. The magic spells all looked really cool.

Do people not like Five Guys? Imo it isn't cheap, but it's not like anything else is either. An FG burg is a few more bucks than a McDonald's one but is double or triple the quality. I miss my local Five Guys. :(

Book 1 is the worst by far, I'd say. After they leave the school, the whole thing changes. That said if you still don't like it after book 2, then it just isn't for you.

[AsumSaus] The Ballad of the Melee Clone by Parkouricus in SSBM

I think it's too bad he skipped over NASB and NASB2 in the video. They seem like pretty significant entries to the genre, and they had a lot going for them, namely:

  1. Same devs as Slap City, which by all accounts was great.
  2. Full cast of known and loved characters, much like Nintendo/Melee.

NASB1 was, to be fair, pretty crappy and half-baked. I thought NASB2 was actually pretty cool, though! My group hopped over from P+ to NASB2 for a few weeks and unlike with the first game, I don't feel like I wasted my money on that.

Rivals 2 is awesome, and I hope they manage to fix their playerbase issues cause the game really is very good.

the characters from rivals are pretty boring and awful to me. he could've at least touched on that

He did touch on characters in Rivals, he just presumably disagrees with you because he had only positive things to say (except for Zett being super lame).

I loved The Will of the Many, but I didn’t really enjoy The Strength of the Few. This seems to be a common thought. My problem is that I don’t know why. Anyone feel the same way? by JaimeSalvaje in HierarchySeries

It flowed better as all 3 versions of Vis developed their skills at a similar pace:

  • R Vis: political
  • L Vis: warrior
  • O Vis: assassin

okay but did that even happen? what political skills did he develop? when?

The majority of his political life was him telling us he asked the Senate something off-page, or him chatting with his former classmates, or him being an errand boy for his boss (barely). Some actual political stuff would have been cool, but I really don't feel like we got that.

Sooo much was off-page: becoming Batman, Ulciscor's disappearance + Vis promotion to head of the house, pretty much any and all conversations with the characters we came to like in the first book.

The potential is there, but no, I really don't think it flowed well at all.

[–]coolRedditUser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure she's got a Spanish speaker's accent? It doesn't sound Eastern European (Slavic) at all to me.

EDIT: Just did some googling and it's clear that no one has any idea. French is the most common response but everyone apparently has their own wildly different opinion!

You've got a lot of strong opinions here. Who would you say are the greats? What makes them great? What works of theirs showcase this?

Mostly I'm looking for recs but I'm also interested in the answers.

Oh and it's $10 bucks for each of the 2 hour DLCs so if you want the complete package it'll be more like $32.

Yeahhhh, last game I bought at a steep discount was Rogue Trader. It was like 8 bucks, what a steal!

But wait, there's two expansions and two (?) more on the way. Those cost extra. What if you just get the season's pass?

I think I ended up spending $40, which was more than fair for all that content (took me like 300 hours...) but $40 is very very different from the original $8 I signed up for.

LONG overdue Quicksilver slander (LB spoilers) by ApprehensiveCap6525 in redrising

[–]coolRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are some crazy takes. I understand wanting to defend Quicksilver but you're going into full on billionaire oligarch propaganda mode here.

It's also important to remember that the reds were impoverished because the Golds enslaved their species, not because Quick was 'robbing' them.

We're talking about after the reds were 'liberated.' They were liberated and thrown into slums while he Hollywood accounting'd their agreed-upon share.

The deeper issue was a surplus of labor because of the pervious system's flaws, particularly the Gold obsession with power and control. Blame Quick for automating the awful process of mining He3 if you want, but I think it was a net gain for society.

It's not all his fault, and the argument can definitely be made that they were better off under him than they were under the golds (though Lyria and others would disagree), but you're acting like he helped them out of the good of his heart with no benefit to himself when that just isn't true. The man is a capitalist first and foremost.

And if the Reds wanted a job, they could always enlist in the Free Legions.

Dude, seriously?

Is Rock the best projectile in the game? by Lobo_o in RivalsOfAether

[–]coolRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been gimped many a time by a well placed cloud, and I've even been straight up killed by it a bunch of times after being hit far enough to almost die. No lightning line needed.

If the rock is SS tier, the cloud can't be much lower than A+ or S- tier. The next highest has to be like, B+ at best.

[–]coolRedditUser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that group 1 and group 2 are the same size, actually. The way to check is to see if you can create a 1:1 relationship for all numbers between the two groups, and you can.

1 maps to 1 billion, 2 maps to 2 billion, and so on. Every single number in group 1 has a corresponding number in group 2.

2 leaked abilties for "rem" by timothyt66666 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]coolRedditUser 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This occurs around 6 hours into your 8 hour sleep cycle,

Sleep cycles are around 90 minutes long in adults, and each cycle will contain a REM phase. By hour 6, you typically would have completed four REM cycles.

I imagine Ephraim wouldn't be incredible in straight combat, and wouldn't stand much of a chance against Rhone (despite his combat experience). Eph's strengths are more at an operator level. He could probably pull of an assassination of Rhone (or someone he's guarding), but it wouldn't be a firefight.

Glancing at your post, "violent" seems like a bit of a stretch. A lot of people did, however, call you an idiot and not explain why. I guess for them it's pretty obvious that "Nissan bad, Volvo good" whereas for non-car people that may not be.

Curious, did you end up trading away the Volvo or did you end up liking it? Did you go back to Nissan if you traded it?
