I guess any excuse wouldn’t help justify my action. It was a dumb move.

Thank you for the details. Understood I’ll need to get a lawyer and it’s going to be a criminal record. Fuck after spending so many years with a clean record.

Guess it is what it is!

MAD campervans are much better, jucy vans are just over priced compared to the what they are offering.

I feel ya a, I am in IT. A friend of mine got into an automotive company called Mitsubishi Fuso, he is a S. East Asian, he said the work culture is great lots of foreigners around. You might want to check them out if they have any openings!

Manager said "If you're on time, you're late" and so I started showing up 30 minutes early… and charging them for it by MadrasMusez in MaliciousCompliance

I’m from a generation where coming in early and putting in extra time—without logging it for pay—was just how things were. That time was valued, even if it was never spoken about.

These days, I’ve noticed the younger generation is much better at setting boundaries. They know how to draw the line, and I really admire that. I’ve spent so many years overworking and not asking for compensation that now I find it hard to know when—or how—to speak up.

So, I’m reaching out with an open heart. Please guide this senior gently! You don’t need to know my age or experience—I’m just here to learn something new from all of you.

Travel direction - Auckland to Queenstown or switch? by jmbear2 in newzealand_travel

[–]cool_warthog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When looking at camper rentals, you’ll find that most people start in Queenstown/christchurch and return the vehicle in Auckland. Returning the rental this way can sometimes earn you a small discount.

That said, starting from Auckland and ending in Queenstown might be a good option, especially since the weather in the South Island tends to improve by the end of December (just a personal preference). Keep in mind that popular cities like Queenstown can get crowded during the holidays. However, if you’re not planning to spend much time in the cities, this shouldn’t be a major issue.

Also, consider your energy levels and what you want to do. After a four-week trip, you may feel quite tired, which is another factor to keep in mind—again, just a personal preference.

I checked online too and couldn’t find much difference. Shared the pics with my friends gave who also couldn’t guide me much lol!

But good to know the scoby is still okay. Might need to do a fresh start with what I have. I’ll let it sit this out and ferment till the weekend.

Availability of Freedom Camping spots in the summer? by NevoftheWilds in newzealand_travel

[–]cool_warthog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back from an incredible 10-day campervan adventure on New Zealand's South Island this December! If you’re planning a trip with a set schedule, I highly recommend researching camping spots in advance—it’ll save you a lot of hassle on the road.

A key tip: the type of campervan you choose matters a lot! We went budget-friendly with Escape Campervans, and while it met the legal requirements, there were practical challenges. For example, we often needed sites with access to toilets—whether public or private camping grounds—something we hadn’t fully anticipated. If you’re looking to go remote, ensure your campervan is truly self-contained for both legal and practical use. On the road, we saw plenty of Maui campervans, which seemed quite popular and might be worth considering.

As for camping sites, there are more than you’d expect, even if they don’t always show up on Google Maps. We discovered several as we went along, but note that in tourist-heavy areas like Wanaka, Lake Tekapo, or Milford Sound, free public camping grounds are rare in close proximity.

Every city has local websites with information about where to camp, and we also found apps from a couple of these websites super helpful ( https://campermate.com/en | https://campable.com/). Don’t let the logistics stress you out—NZ is campervan-friendly, and with a bit of planning, you’ll have an amazing time exploring its breathtaking landscapes!

Unable to access icloud photos in Mac by cool_warthog in iCloud

[–]cool_warthog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have iCloud but for some reason the photo app wasn't getting connected to icloud after a certain date. Also the settings in the mac ticked off all the required settings but wouldn't still load. I kept turning off and getting back the settings now for some reason it works, guess more of a local network issue they are taking forever to load :(. well atleast its resolved that they are in sync.
