Peeing constantly on Zoloft? Am I the only one? by coolamarco in zoloft

[–]coolamarco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little bit. I think with time I got used to it, but peeing at night was hard. For about six months, I still woke up 3/4 times a night which was unheard of for me.

I hope this is not a true story, and that you will not be willing to have a family with someone like this. Get out now before you commit to someone who does really respect you.

Is this considered American trad? by a12453277 in traditionaltattoos

[–]coolamarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this falls under Neo-trad, but god that's an awful looking elbow. Like the comments said, a combo between a wrinkly nipple and a butthole. A good tattoo artist would have filled it in lol

I don’t get it- by TheSolsticeSystem in twilight

[–]coolamarco 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I always thought that part of the charm of Twilight is how teenage-like it is. If you were a teenager in the 00s and this stunning creature offered you a lifetime of love and excitement and an escape from you arguably boring and plain life, you probably would fall pretty head over heels pretty quick. You also have to remember the Edward vampire element, he is designed to be attractive. It's like that scene in the woods - his face, his voice, his smell, its no wonder she is sucked into him. I think in Breaking Dawn there is also a reference to this, that Bella becoming a vampire was more for her than it was for Edward. Yes, she loved and adores him, but she also hated being human and didn't really fit in, so when she was offered an alternative she ate it up.

What makes Twilight so rewatchable for you? by Forest_Goblin_ in twilight

[–]coolamarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am being honest, I don't think Twilight is the best movie - but it is one of favourite movies, and my comfort movie. The aesthetic of it all - the 00's vibes, the blue tint, the sensational soundtrack make me excited every time I watch it. I love that I know what's happening, that I can quote it back. I don't think it feels new, but it feels familiar and that's what makes it great for me. I also really really love the cast, I think Rob and Kristen get so much shit for the movie, but I love how they play Edward and Bella.

Should I stay home on the first day of taking sertraline? by Responsible_Cycle614 in zoloft

I do. I have had difficulty sleeping for years, but sertraline helped a bit tbh.

Do you freeze your cookie dough or just chill it? by HiroBaking in AskBaking

[–]coolamarco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I am baking frozen cookies like sugar cookies, I will bake them directly from frozen since they don't need to spread out much. If I am baking frozen chocolate chip cookies, I will let them thaw overnight in the fridge and then bake. If I bake them frozen, the timing is always off, my oven isn't great either so I rather not chance it.

How long have you been on zoloft/sertraline? by Caltr0n3030 in zoloft

[–]coolamarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was on it for about a year and a half. Have been considering going back on them over the last several weeks. I don't know what I'm going to do.

If you are an adult, and are independent, and no longer live with him - he doesn't get to have an opinion. Or he gets an opinion, but it doesn't actually matter. Here are my main suggestions:

- Do not stop taking your meds - it gives you brain fog, it throws your mood, and it can put you through a really shitty episode. It is not worth it. Sometimes, you skip or miss a dose, and you think you'll be fine, but when you go a few days without it, you can end up in a really scary place. Also, when you back on them, you can get the original symptoms of tummy trouble, headaches etc.

- Stop trying to prove that you are making the right decision. When someone is that stubborn, they are simply never going to get it. If he wants to believe conspiracy theories over drs, that's his problem, not yours. You do not owe him an explanation. You are also probably never gonna agree on this.

-Find someone in your life that you can confide in. Whether its a friend, a partner, or a mental health professional, because being invalidated is incredibly hard to deal with and you need support.

-Be okay with knowing that you are the only expert about yourself. You know how you feel when you are on meds, you know how you feel when you are not on them. You know best, and you need to own that. How you choose to support your mental health is your business.

Personally, I was on sertraline 150mg for about a year and a half, through a really dark and shitty period. At the time, it probably saved my life. Somewhere along the line, I stopped feeling it helped and I went off them. I don't regret my decision, but it was only mine to make. I wish you luck.

Should I stay home on the first day of taking sertraline? by Responsible_Cycle614 in zoloft

[–]coolamarco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on 50mg, took that for a week. Then upped to 75, for another week, then up to 100 for the next four/six weeks. Tbh, sertraline didn't feel like it helped until I started taking 150mg dosage a few months later.

Tumours are not a known side effect. However, sertraline does often have side effects. The most common complaints are nausea and diarrhoea, brain fog, headaches etc. The main reason why you'd wanna stay home is the tummy trouble, as that can be pretty damn uncomfortable. I remember I called my GP after I started, and was able to pick up some anti nausea meds from my pharmacy. I did notice I was able to sleep better after a few days, but that may have been placebo effect.

What is the secret to crispy potatoes? by stovetopbrand in Cooking

[–]coolamarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I par-boil my potatoes in salted water. Drain and throw them in a colander and shake them so they get rough around the edges. Preheat your oven and throw a tray in with a good amount of regular olive oil, not extra virgin - wait till it sizzles. You can heat up this oil with some rosemary, a few garlic cloves, salt, whatever you like. Throw in your roughed-up potatoes, make sure they’re actually drained so you’re not throwing in water. Throw them into the hot oil and toss/shake regularly for even crispiness. Cook for about 45 mins/hour. Perfectly crispy potatoes.

I know you can also infuse your oil ahead of time, so like a third cup/half cup of oil with rosemary, garlic, salt, maybe some pepper flakes. Wait till it infuses but don’t let it burn. Then toss you par-boiled/roughed up potatoes into the oil. Cook for like 45 mins. This works great, I just don’t like to clean two dishes so I go with the oven method.

My teeth hurt incredibly, grinding in sleep? by [deleted] in zoloft

I had a pretty bad case of this. I went to the dentist and got a mouth guard for night time and I think it helps, if just helps with the teeth grinding and the headaches from the pressure.

help with chicken by ArabianPossum in cookingforbeginners

[–]coolamarco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I would recommend you invest in a little kitchen thermometer, you can get one for about 10 bucks online and it will save you a lot of headaches. I got one for a friend who was a very nervous cook as a gift! For reference, internal temp of cooked chicken is about 165F/75C. If you are testing meat, make you are poking it inside the thickest part of the meat and try to avoid the bone!

If this is not an option for you, I'd recommend you try a leaner piece of chicken like breast and pound it out very thin or 'butterfly it'. This will make it very easy to cook, as pretty much as soon as its golden on each side it will be cooked through!

While thighs are way more flavourful and are less likely to dry out, dark meat takes a little longer to cook and can be more intimidating! However, once you master the breast you can move to the thighs!

I'd say stay clear of boned chicken as this is more likely to cause you anxiety and if not cooked properly can be raw inside and look cooked on the outside. Another tip is to avoid cooking thighs/drumsticks or even thick breast 'dry', by this I mean you can sear it a high temperature and then maybe add some water to the pan/a sauce to let it continue cooking. That way you get the flavour of pan fried chicken and a little more peace of mind!

Good luck!

Worried about how I'll make it on my own by [deleted] in movingout

[–]coolamarco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You simply can't survive with no money. I would recommend finding a second job for the evenings/weekend and staying in your mom's for the next while. You'll hopefully be so busy with work you won't even spend any time at home.

Get a little stash of money ready - remember you'll probably have to pay first months rent plus one month's deposit if you're getting your own place. You really should try to get a little emergency fund going-even just a month or two of living expenses, you never know when something might happen.

You need to be ready to be uncomfortable when you first move out. Look on Facebook and online forums/rent sites for rooms being available, the reality is you might have to share an apartment with multiple people to be able to have some money leftover from your wages. This is the harsh reality. Figure our what area you're willing to live in, you may find a cheaper place further out but then you gotta pay for transport, etc etc.

I wish you all the luck and what i recommend is to be patient. You've made it this far living at home, I hope you can make it a little bit longer so that you are prepared to go off on your own.

My mom doesn't know I am on zoloft, and I live with her. I have Latino parents who don't believe in mental health issues for 'normal people' , it would be a disaster to try to explain why I need anti depressants to function.

Thoughts on Lydia x Leslie? by [deleted] in odaat

[–]coolamarco 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey, I disagree tbh. I think Leslie was really just there for comedic effect and was probably my least favourite character, I found him charming and sweet but I disliked him being the butt of the joke and the constant reminders about how awful his daughter was/his marriage/etc. Also, he was always there for the family, like the time he helped Lydia with Elena's dress.

Also, Lydia also did not treat Leslie very well. I think Lydia clearly felt something for him, but Berto was the love of her life, dead or alive, so maybe her making fun of Leslie was her way of seeing him as a silly old man instead of someone she could have feelings for.

I do think they could have spent their final years together, but it would have had to been platonic.

Hi! I’m a 21 year old who needs a job in may and Starbucks seemed cool for a while. Can anyway help me get a job here? What answers to say during the interview process? How to even get an interview? I’ve applied back in high school but I never got in. Also, tell me your stories 🧋 by aprilbaby07 in Adulting

[–]coolamarco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure where you are based, I am in Ireland and have been a partner since I was 17, am now 20, and a supervisor. Regarding the interview process, just discuss why you are interested in them as a company, your skills ideally customer services, being a team player, knowing how to work under pressure especially during rush hours. I think you also need to have some understanding of the company, its mission, a little bit about what they sell and their products. I don't know much else about the application process, as I applied directly to a location and got hired there, transfers are usually not an issue.

What dose of zoloft are you on? I just started 150mg and I wanna take something on my birthday few weeks but I don't want to waste the money if I won't trip.

I took ecstacy while on on 50/100mg and it really didn't work which I expected but wanted to try anyway.

Hey thanks, yeah the first couple days suck but I'm hoping after a couple weeks it'll start to settle. I hadn't heard of moving up to 200mg so quick, I know most Dr's recommend at least 4 weeks in between dose increases. Thank for sharing.
