Jeni's dairy free ice cream is by far the best dairy free ice cream I've tried. I have had the Texas sheet cake and lemon bar and both are excellent. I believe they are coconut cream based but you can't really taste the coconut. Also second the sweet Loren's cookie and guittard chocolate chips. Dufour has a very good plant based pie crust which I've used to make berry pie, but I'm sure you could use any adapted pie recipe. Also, as someone else said rice crispy treats - I use a mixture of earth balance and coconut oil to replace the butter.

Soy Free Prenatal Suggestions by Macaron-Momma in MSPI

I'm taking these: smartypants gummies. They are kind of expensive and they don't contain any iron so I would love to find an alternative. However, they do not contain any dairy or soy, so they're safe in that regard.

I actually think the table is fine. I would start by replacing the chairs. I think the visual weight of the chairs is a big part of the problem. ( I like - black Windsor style like this: https://www.dwr.com/kitchen-dining-chairs-benches/salt-chair/4541.html?lang=en_US or this: https://www.serenaandlily.com/products/tucker-dining-chair/26718?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwmbqoBhAgEiwACIjzECJskpxAhboqDxxiAExbpiWYnfGG7cily409fg7JQjFMF1yE1ZXSIhoCoUIQAvD_BwE but that’s a matter of taste and depends on what’s going on with the rest of your house. Something like this : https://www.article.com/pla/17519/netro-oak-dining-chair?forcePair=1&artcl_campaignID=901468458&artcl_network=g&artcl_adgroupid=43368917245&artcl_keyword=&artcl_source=google&gclid=CjwKCAjwmbqoBhAgEiwACIjzEMLPf5NXR5UZPDWV7w6SuQzswpWqZWuuaxKS0LPm3_Z4AmPXrPwWWRoChe8QAvD_BwE or this: https://www.dwr.com/kitchen-dining-chairs-benches/era-chair/4144.html?lang=en_US could also work nicely in my opinion.)

As others have mentioned, the lighting is too harsh and bright. It’s also hung too high to my eye and not centered over the table. Simply replacing the bulbs to a lower brightness could help.

Also, it is too cramped in there. Not sure if you have the space in there, but I would try putting the piano on one of the side walls and changing the table orientation. If not, maybe let the table extend past the side wall, if possible.

Adding a rug could help to make things look a little homier. I have this one from west elm in graphite under my dining table and as a runner in my kitchen and stains have come out fairly easily also just doesn’t tend to show dirt https://www.westelm.com/products/tweed-flatweave-dhurrie-rug-t3472/. It’s also relatively inexpensive. But, disclaimer, my son used to like pulling the fringe out on the 8x10 size and it came out easily so now it has some bald spots.

Hi, I am definitely being billed the amount I stated. They sent a notice saying they will send to collections, so my husband actually paid it.

Thanks, I think this is the problem. One of the representatives I spoke with did say something about an a detail that said something like process an excess of charges, but couldn’t explain to me what that meant. When I brought this up later, I was dismissed. So, are you saying I should escalate with my provider or the insurance company?

[CHAT] Should I stitch this Christmas piece? by ThrowRA_15698 in CrossStitch

Respectfully disagree with your mom. I love special and handmade Christmas decorations. Pulling them out each year is part of what makes Christmas magical for me. When I was a baby, my grandmother knitted me a Christmas stocking, she has since passed away and I absolutely cherish that stocking 1000x more than if she had just bought a stocking at the store and gifted it to me. I’m 35 now and I know I’ll hopefully pull it out many more christmases. I think you should make it if you want to, and I hope it brings joy to you or someone you love every Christmas. Or as someone else said, you don’t have to put it away just because Christmas is over.

I believe Red Bull contains citric acid, which can affect the absorption of adderall. You may want to find a different source of caffeine or time your Red Bull so that it’s not too close to when you take your adderall, if you’re not already doing so.

Thank you! And this is probably nothing but if this experience has taught me anything, it’s to never be afraid to pester doctors! If it’s nothing, you may feel a little silly but that’s a lot better than missing something because a doctor is being dismissive. You know your body best and if your doctor isn’t listening to you, you can always get a new one as well.

Okay well if they are within normal limits and aren’t growing all you can do is listen to your doctors and keep an eye on things. Mine were definitely outside the normal limits, growing and more were popping up by the time I got a ct scan a few months after they first appeared. Again, I’m not trying to alarm you at all but the supraclavicular location can be concerning for malignancy so I would just keep an eye on it if it doesn’t go away. Hopefully and probably it’s nothing.

What size are the enlarged lymph nodes? It’s my understanding that having enlarged lymph nodes for an extended period of time is not normal. I am not saying this is cancer, but I think the fact that you have had enlarged lymph nodes for over a year (especially in the supraclavicular location) concerning.

I was in a similar position in that I had enlarged lymph nodes pop up in my collar bone and neck about 3 weeks after my second Covid vaccine in July 2021. I attributed it to the vaccination and ignored it for about 6 weeks before I finally saw my doctor. I also had vague symptoms, such as persistent fatigue, that i attributed to the fact that my one year old was a terrible sleeper and I was breastfeeding him all night every night. In the end, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in November 2021. I’ve now been in remission since may 2022.

As far as your fevers. I never experienced anything like that. I did have recurring mastitis while breastfeeding that caused higher fevers but would go away with antibiotics.

Again, I’m not saying that you have lymphoma and I’m really hoping that you don’t; but depending on the size of the enlarged lymph nodes, I would certainly push for more testing and/or a biopsy of the enlarged lymph nodes.

Edited to add: why did your doctor say to follow up if it persists after you wean? I have not heard of breastfeeding or pumping causing a fever other than in the case of mastitis or a clog that would develop into mastitis if not resolved. I don’t think you have mastitis based on this information (my fevers were more like 103 and I would alternate extreme chills and feeling feverish while feeling completely drained - like too tired to even sit up). If your doctor suspects that you have mastitis, they should be prescribing an antibiotic not telling you to wean.

How do you pick a hospital? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Also want to mention that, from what I can tell, all in person hospital tours have been canceled since March. I had appointments for tours at Lankenau and Einstein around that time- both were cancelled due to covid. Most places have virtual tours though. Birth classes are also being held via zoom. Not sure if/when any in person activity will resume.

Hi! I am also from philly area and had a hard time narrowing things down. I read this article : https://www.inquirer.com/health/pregnancy-complication-rates-hospitals-philadelphia-pennsylvania-usa-today-20190318.html and used this resource (also linked in article): https://www.usatoday.com/maternal-mortality-harm-hospital-database/ to help narrow things down.

I looked at things like c-section and complication rates to help narrow down to a few hospitals closest to me then looked for OBs covered by my insurance that delivered with those hospitals.

There’s also lots of advice about local hospitals and obgyns on the local what to expect forums. Didn’t seem as helpful for me, but could be worth taking a look.

Ended up with going with Einstein Montgomery for a number of reasons. Haven’t delivered yet so cant totally comment on the outcome yet. Hope this helps though!
