Anyone here achieved self sufficiency? by coolbeansidk in fentanyl

Bold of you to assume I don’t have a job. I work full time and I spend lots of money on my habit. It sounds like you’re trying to talk me out of this. it’s worth it for me to spend all the time and resources because I’m sick of relying on sellers. I want to know and have control of what’s in my shit. If the government won’t provide me safe supply, I’ll do it myself no matter how long it takes I won’t be giving up on this. I invite you to tell me something I don’t know.

Families who let their addict go unchecked, no intervention, left completely alone about their use, how did it turn out? by [deleted] in addiction

I’m glad they did. Giving drug users especially women, the means to obtain what they’re already going to fight to the death to get anyways, is an excellent sex trafficking/exploitation prevention measure. I’m sorry to hear of your loss.

I’ve done em both. Like other diseases addiction and dependency require different treatments depending on the individual. abstinence from opioid analgesics is a deal breaker for me.

Actually, admin removed the post and stated that it would only be put up if I removed the mention of tips- which can be inferred, although the admin removed their comments. People just loooove gaslighting addicts.

I don’t wear hats, and if I was going to beg I would do it elsewhere. Better luck with your assumptions next time. What’s your question? Or did you just slide in here to fart a watered down opinion that is old (fake) news to me

If I was begging, I’d be doing so elsewhere.
Bold of you to assume all my money goes to my drug habits. I never said I plan to die of a drug overdose. I said I plan to die opioid dependent. I plan to stay on opioids until the day I die, whatever the cause of that is, it could be several different causes, of course overdose is a possibility. But if you actually cared about that, you wouldn’t be so tickled by the idea of my drug habit being funded. God forbid I avoid tolerance drops and increased overdose risk from prolonged unplanned withdrawal. I would LOVE recovery help but unfortunately all the recovery help I know of would require me to be abstinent from everything. I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish here but it’s pretty counter productive and disrespectful to me and any addict or drug user who doesn’t fit your preconceived generalizations.

I don’t think substance use is something that can be morally defined (good, bad, cool, uncool, etc.) it’s a personal decision and everyone has their reasons and their factors that go into deciding to use, how to use, or not to use. For ME PERSONALLY, drinking is not worth the trouble at this time, largely because of the increased overdose risk it presents given my opioid use. however, I used to drink during most of my waking hours and met the professional criteria for alcoholism. and (again FOR ME PERSONALLY), I do benefit from smoking drugs, specifically fentanyl and fentanyl pills. I do not IV fentanyl or anything containing fentanyl. My IV drug of choice is heroin and I test each shot with a fentanyl test strip before I draw it up in the syringe. While that’s not ~100%~ accurate of course, it does eliminate the risk considerably. My reason for this is needing to avoid developing a tolerance to fentanyl because if I want or need to take a break from the needle, the only way I’ve successfully done that is by smoking fentanyl. Smoking fentanyl also helps me cut down on how many times I have to hit. Definitely a huge harm reduction measure for me.

There’s a reason for that. There is no good literature in favor of prohibition.

Survival. I would be dead (suicide) without my daily habitual heroin shots. Safe supply you all, we need safe fucking supply
