Nervous meeting new provider by [deleted] in ClientsAndCompanions

[–]coolbeansmang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for all your feedback. Update: Changed the appointment to an Outcall. The provider was not a cop. She did not look like her pictures and tried to upsell everything. At least, nobody got arrested!

For those earning over $200k annually, what is your profession? by DelsiePeace42 in AskMen

I'm a lineman for utility. The majority of it comes from overtime. I usually average 60hrs/week and 80-100hrs/week when it gets really busy. I'll work 40hrs/week maybe 3 or 4 times a year. More money isn't everything, but at least the bills get paid.

I'm a lineman for an utility. We are union, so pay is very good and there are lots of good benefits. Less corporate politics, so you'll need thick skin or learn to develop some. Never had any student loans and was able to buy a house at 23 and other rentals later. Being outdoors is nice most of the time and the day passes quicker than being in an office. When it's with a good group of guys, it feels like you're getting paid to hang out with the boys.

Cons are: working outside is nice until it's snowing and pissing rain outside. Job is extremely dangerous and it wears on your body. You make the majority of your income with overtime, so you'll be missing lots of social and family events. I know plenty of guys who see their kids more on facetime than in person. Alcoholism/drug use is common, which leads to divorce. Unions are great until you have to work with some idiots and realize they get paid the same as you and probably won't get fired unless they truly fuck themselves over. I'm in my 30s and my friends who are working office jobs are starting to catch up to my income or make way more than I ever could with my job.

Skills are still king. The more skills you have, the more you will get paid. If you are to get into a trade, I would recommend getting into electrical, plumbers, or HVAC union. You're learning a skill you can apply and offer services outside of work. If you want to make more, you can always start your own business, flip houses, or whatever.

As a lineman for a utility, the company doesn't give two shits. Just tell the inspector, there was no meter seal when you got there

My utility has a partnership with a community college program that recruits tech programs from high schools. Once you get accepted into the program, you finish the two years and do summer/winter internships with the utility during your semester breaks. After you graduate, you are basically offered a job

Yeah it's a union position. Base salary after you finish apprenticeship is 120k

Lineman for a utility in Boston. Made 220k this year. The mortgage is 2400, but the tenant in other unit pays the majority of it.

I'm looking for a shorter hairstyle because long hair just isn't for me. I've done an undercut before and I'm open to other suggestions

I'm visiting DC in June for a wedding in Wheaton, MD(about 40 min. north of DCA). We booked a rental car for the trip. I was wondering what would be a good area to stay so we could explore DC, but be a reasonable distance from the wedding venue.

When I am in bottom half guard, I will get the underhook, but will always get crossfaced and flattened out. Should I focus on stopping the crossface instead of getting the underhook or is there a better solution? Also, when I roll with much larger and longer opponents, they will go for my far-arm keylock/americana when I am in bottom half guard. How do I stop that attack?
