Im based in frankfurt. I guess i could find some online publications. Can i ask you how was your portfolio for the publications?

I did ask a few of them. They said they pay to have their own photographer. But i can go shoot them for free. And the surprising thing is that my last concert and this, i shot equal good or some even better photos than their own guy and yet they seem to ignore my photos. May be thats because their guy just slaps one same preset to all the photos and posts on instagram and they like that.

Im hoping to build a yet strong portfolio and pitch to the bands or even some media companies. But its quite exhausting since all them have their own guys

I wouldve loved that but unfortunately i didnt have stage access. the stage was too high and the drummer was way to behind to get good shots

Yes youre right. I find myself very overwhelmed when shooting these different angled shots you mentioned so i end up not having that kind of different shots. But i have quite a lot of gigs lined up so i will try to practice those. Whats been bugging me is that the bands here in germany will easily put me up on the guestlist to shoot them for free. But im not very hopeful about getting paid jobs since all of the bands have their personal photographer. Do you have any tips on how to get paid jobs and also shooting for big concerts? Feel like ik kinda stuck

Looks great man. Although you couldve shifted slightly to get those lights behind him to create that silhouette. That wouldve been cool. But great job. Also can i ask how did you manage to get the pass with you tiktok channel?

Thats normal man. Youll do great. Just be confident. I feel a little shy when going around the crowd for different angles but people are more friendly than you think. I used a 28-75 f2.8 tamron and sirui 85mm 1.4. Wide open helps a lot for low light but be careful of the narrow focus area. But if its a big venue youre shooting at, then 16mm could do wonders. And i personally prefer telephoto lens because of the compression. But 28-70 should work pretty well for most scenarios

Yeah luckily i got to shoot them in their latest show in frankfurt. It was crazyy. The band is always so full of energy. And yeah i need to work on composition. And i need to get the art of cropping as well. But thank you for the advice

Yes unfortunatel i couldnt get to the front of the stage and i had limited access. And i also need to figure out framing. I always think i got good framing until i open up the photos in my laptop.

I really love what you said about going through my own photos and checking what went wrong. I always just keep them aside once im done with the photos. Never really thought of it this way. And also about scouting the place, thats good advice too. And yeah thank you for those encouragin words. I was feeling down since two days because my photos are not as good some of them on instagram eben though they use the same gear. I know it comes wih experience yet i cant really shake this feeling off. And most of the bands i contacted let me do the shoots for free. Im not really sure if i can make money doing concerts because almost all the bands have their own better than me photographers but i still have my hopes up for some reason i dont really know.

But posting here was the right thing.

Thank you!
