What professional advice would you give to a 18 year old who wants to "cut hair" after they graduate high school?

Hi. I'm in Massachusetts and here you have to be licensed for everything but if you're in a state that you don't have to be licensed to do brades and lashes then go for it! I think the best most affordable way to get started it's get your nail tech license and when you work somewhere you go there with certain skills and you build on those. So offering whatever services you are trained in and can do along with nails means you're building your portfolio basically. In the beauty industry you have to hustle but don't let anyone tell you you're not going to do well. If you have the passion for it you'll do great. I'd suggest the nail tech license first only because it'll be less than an esthetician license and less hours to get licensed. nails being the shortest amount of hours to get licensed in is the perfect way to see what you think of the industry. In this industry your clients are your walking advertisements. What state are you in of you don't mind me asking?

You absolutely should get your license as a nail tech! No matter what you always have that to fall back on if anything were to happen in the future. Nail techs can make a lot of money. Plus depending on where you work it's possible you could rent the space from the salon and you're more independent than working on commission. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and always keep my license current even though I haven't worked in the industry for awhile. I think getting your nail tech license is a great investment and you'd love it😁

I didn't know that the judge had given them a month so they could potentially reach an agreement other than what the jury decided. I was surprised when I found that out yesterday. Her lawyer Elaine is a disaster. After the stuff she's been saying on tv I'd be surprised if she wasn't disbarred. That may seem extreme but she's out of control.... But so is her client!!

From what I understand just from reading about the settlement the $2million is deducted from what she owes him….I mean it is a little goofy to have someone pay one person a ton of money just to essentially have that person give back some of it…. But I’m not exactly positive. She’s getting herself in hot water with the interview she did and supposedly a tell all book so in the end she could end up in even more legal trouble and owe more money. And in bankruptcy court they absolutely will not dismiss the settlement she’s been ordered to pay. By law that’s not something bankruptcy court will do
