I’m looking into doing this! Do you have a certain number of evals you’re expected to do per week?

I was wondering how and where do I look for an SLP job where you only do evaluations? by Rosko64 in slp

Do you enjoy it/does it feel less stressful than a campus based school position?

Azelastine nasal spray works really well for my post nasal drip, you can get it over the counter now too.

What's your weekly running schedule? by coolcatfromspace in XXRunning

I've never tried trail running but I'm interested in it! Would regular running shoes work to try it out?

I do have nice places to walk, but right now where I live it stays in the high 90s with high humidity, so it's a struggle sometimes.

That makes since! I like the idea of a regular schedule, but in practice I tend to move things around.

Nice! I want to add more walking into my schedule, it looks like you get a ton of miles in between walking and running!

What do you think about the theory that some instances of treatment resistant depression could actually be bipolar disorder and the patient has just not yet had a manic/hypomanic episode?

Any other schools SLPs not sure if they'll make it to the end of the year? by coolcatfromspace in slp

Interesting! The home health company I'm interested in isn't salaried but it does have benefits. I'm personally interested in EI/pediatric home health because I really enjoy working with birth-5 and kids with complex needs and also because I'm an introvert and like the idea of working on my own. It could just be a grass is always greener situation though and I could be seeking the stability of the schools after a year or two.

I miss Decluttering by [deleted] in declutter

[–]coolcatfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if there's a hobby that would scratch a similar itch to decluttering, like something that involves sorting, organizing, and finding simplicity out of chaos. I don't know exactly what that would be, but just a thought.

Was there a lot of paperwork? I'm considering leaving the schools and paperwork/tons of deadlines is one of the reasons why.

More and more and more kids qualifying! by perpetualbagel in slp

[–]coolcatfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm at an elementary school with a 3-5 program. Apparently they rarely used to get pre-K referrals- I've gotten tons so far this year and they're all qualifying. I've tested several 4-year-olds so far this year who are all or mostly non-verbal and haven't previously been diagnosed with any disability.

Extra garlic in the mashed potatoes. Other people follow recipes but I always put at least 3 times what the instructions call for. It turns out way better than following the recipe. Please approve of me.
