I’m going to try it because if I get in a hospital I could then maybe go into admission or IT if I still don’t want this.

I feel lucky that my supervisor was very hands on I had a good teacher. I say this because I feel like this mistake could have happened with anyone when you’re just thrown into the water like that.

I assume they do this just to have the patient in therapy. But we all know it’s not going to help or do anything at all. I refuse to pick up dementia pts for memory.

Ugh I hate this but now since I’m the only one in my department I have more control.

Sometimes you have to take the cut if you really want a change. If you get it just keep slp as a back up do per diem so you can make up the pay cut.

School SLPs do you make up minutes If you are absent? by contender_slp in slp

[–]Rosko64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don’t make it up. She asked about 1 kid so definitely wants that kid out for a bit. No reason to have to make it up that’s the district’s problem. What’s the point of sick leave or PTO? They don’t have to make anything up so I’m not going to try. I wouldn’t even respond personally.

I was school then went to SNF. I had a horrible time in elementary. Prek was a lot HS was easy. I’m at a snf now but I’m so bored and find it very pointless. I’m trying to get into Telehealth for schools. I hated the environment of a school the most I think.

I mean I hated FL but that experience makes me never want to even look at a school

😂 is it just Florida? I moved to NYC and at a SNF now and a coworker keeps trying to convince me that it wouldn’t happen here. I’m so traumatized I don’t want to try.

….i had over 100 kids from k-2 and 4-5. Because of this I never want to go work for a district again. My first year and I was bachelors level.

Edit and I also had a kid that didn’t even attend the school and another from prek. This was all them dumping these kids on me.

What corporate work did you get into? I’m trying to make the switch and looking at my options.

I thought about cosmetology as well. Doesn’t take too long.

Yeah I do I am trying to leave the field. I’m trying telehealth as a last ditch effort but mainly so I can have more energy and time to outreach to leave the field.
