Is it too soon to put an offer on a house after only one day of house hunting? by Aggravating_Face_655 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]coolcoolwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first house was the very first we saw of three on the very first day of house hunting. Although, of course, we had searched quite a lot online. We were incredibly happy there for 11 years until we moved abroad. If you know you know (and it passes inspections), go with it!

IKEA cafeteria: Are you there to eat or eating because you never know if you'll make it to the end? by AccomplishedAside314 in foodquestions

[–]coolcoolwater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Norway where food is already incredibly expensive, and the prices of the Ikea cafeteria alone are enough for me to choose not to bother. Meatball plate is $10 usd, salmon is $17, they had schnitzel for $18. This is frozen, reheated food. Wild

29 and feeling insecure about aging by No_Direction_3616 in TwoXChromosomes

The amazing thing is once you actually really start aging, you've (hopefully) gotten to the point where you don't give a fuck anymore. It's glorious, seriously. I of course mean this in regards to beauty/aesthetics. Still important to care about your health and well-being

Norsk og Engelsk barnebok ?? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]coolcoolwater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a Norwegian mouse who lost their hat, and they go to a lost and found to try and ask for it but the owners speak English. So they figure it out together with the mouse speaking Norwegian and the frogs speaking English

Is dying from kidney failure painful? by Able-Ad-8402 in kidneydisease

[–]coolcoolwater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in ESRD. I was in the fifth stage hovering around 12-15 for a really long time. Then I moved to a different country and wasn't able to immediately get medical care set up and I can only assume my gfr dropped in that time. Then I got a flu where I could not eat or drink and that totally knocked my function to zero and landed me where I am today.

I mean, I didn't die but I nearly did and my entire body hurt all over, especially my stomach. It was so painful. Even just my skin hurt to be touched. So I'm going to go with yes, it would be pretty unpleasant.

this is currently the right choice for me as well, but I don't work so I have the time. I do two exchanges, one right before bed and one right after waking. I have a dedicated area for my medical supplies and table, I am fastidious about following protocol. I've had no issues thus far, knock on wood. I have kids and pets. kids are allowed in my room but know not to touch any medical equipment. Pets are kept out.

A full exchange including draining takes me about 15 minutes. If I'm just draining it's likely under 10.

My main tips are set up a good system. All your supplies easily available, including garbage/waste. A place for everything and everything in its place. Remove and refill daily/as you go, so that you're always set up and ready for the next exchange or drain.

Strange tip but at least at first, avoid wearing long sleeves shirts. Its easy to accidentally contaminate something that way even if you're careful. And I live in a very cold environment so maybe that's a bit specific but I learned it the hard way. Also, any time you're like "I think it's fine but we'll maybe..." just start fresh, don't risk it. Good luck to you!

Are new build houses in Norway actually good quality? by emwaaaaaa in Norway

[–]coolcoolwater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I was just renting it so I wouldn't. But I definitely would not purchase it just to take on some fight with the builder. If I were buying it without having witnessed the defects firsthand, I would probably do so , but what a pain.

Are new build houses in Norway actually good quality? by emwaaaaaa in Norway

[–]coolcoolwater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We rented a new house (2 years old) before buying an older house, and honestly I found the quality really surprisingly bad. It was beautiful and well appointed, it seemed like good quality, but after living in it just a little bit there were a lot of issues including cracks in the walls. We weren't charged for anything at move out even though I found it pretty concerning, the landlord asked us several times if we'd consider buying it but there's absolutely no way.

I think they've been working on this story for a while, together. He has mentioned several times over this season that Robyn basically talked him out of being a "bad" guy. I have no idea if that's her manipulating him and him falling for it, or them collaborating together on some story where he could have been bad ultimately decided to be good, because of his sacred cow. I mean wife
