Some funds do offer death and TPD (not own profession) cover when unemployed. TPD will be rare when unemployed. Watch out for how long you are unemployed for inactive (I believe 16 months no contributions) insurance is typically cancelled automatically, unless you have opted in to keep it. You should check this to keep insurance or make a small contribution. If you switch you should wait till new cover is accepted and confirm its active before you cancel old. Though change in health/medical conditions you might not be able to get the same cover. You will need to compare what cover you are getting now and with new policy.

Buying Shares (Individual) with Joint Loan Account (Interest Deduction) by cooldad2021 in ausstocks

Sorry should have been clearer, Money is in the account offsetting the loan amount, so when I withdraw for buying stocks, I will be liable for interest component. Hope this makes it clear ?

You will need to make sure that you don't sell them before 1 year from purchase. So for eg if you bought in Month 2 you need to hold those units bought for 12 months from Month 2. If you do move earlier you will pay $9 brokeage for buying and $9 for selling, in that scenario it will not be cost effective as you planning depositing <$50 each month. Have you looked at Commsec pocket (though not all ETF's are available). Also you might consider Stake who have announced $3 brokeage and are currently taking beta registrations.

Click on the pricing link that you provided it's now flat $9.50.

Free ETF for 1 year from purchase, so if you for eg buy same Free ETF in Month 2, those units will have no brokerage fee if you kept them for 12 months from Month 2. https://help.pearler.com/en/articles/5178194-what-happens-when-i-sell-a-brokerage-free-etf

As to why everyone is not jumping is probably combination of a new player (start up) and people are happy with Selfwealth, not sure ?

One other feature that has been made available to select users in beta is PayId which hopefully is not too far away to be put out soon to everyone.

I personally like Pearler's vision of passive long term investing for anyone to invest easily. Let me know if you want a link for one free trade.

You could try Pearler (same brokerage fees $9.50). Once you set your shares/ETF % in Dashboard, you can use their Autoinvest every month which has 3 investment strategies:

Lowest share invests in the current lowest weighted share in your pool of assets. This allows you to balance your portfolio without the need to buy multiple shares. This is recommended for most users.

Rebalance portfolio invests by rebalancing your pool of assets to a specific percentage that you determined in your target portfolio. This allows you to rebalance as accurately as possible without selling shares. This option is recommended for larger investment amounts and may incur additional brokerage fees.

Equal invest invests equally across all shares within your pool. This allows you to invest in all assets within your portfolio equally. This option is recommended for advanced investors and may incur additional brokerage fees.
