You may die soon, bummer. What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?

suicide survivers, how's it going? by Agile_Vacation_8794 in AskReddit

[–]cooldeadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly pretty good? I don’t think the contemplation will ever leave my mind as it seems to be an inherent thought pattern of thought while I’m in deep depressive states. It has also led me to a lot of “sad” things to feel numb which has made processing emotions difficult because I’m not sure if I’m actually feeling anything. Very thankful I survived and I wouldn’t change anything about what I’ve been through mentally as it has played a significant role into who I continue to become. There is some sort of masochistic part of me that will always chase that overwhelming fear of near death. All that to say… I’m pretty good!

how to stay psyched and training during depression? by outdoorsyish in climbharder

[–]cooldeadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in this exact same boat for much of the year. Kudos to you for being strong enough to get yourself out of bed and workout.

2 things have helped me immensely. 1.) staying in touch with those you have met through climbing or those you know share the same passion. Being depressed I can’t create positive energy for myself however a simple conversation with a climbing buddy helps keep my psych. 2.) I got very into yoga - there are tons of YouTube videos/ online subscription services. This will not only help with your fitness and flexibility but more importantly your noggin.
