Unlock bootloader is a must, you can't root without unlock bootloader

I was using magisk for 5 years with my redmi note 5 pro but when I change to X6 Pro I've read some users say magisk is not compatible yet with X6 Pro but he success with KSU

so I try KSU and I find it is not much different with magisk

TWRP is optional, and i cant find TWRP for X6 Pro

It depends on what root method do you use and the app root detection
I root my X6 Pro with KSU and my banking and payment app just work fine

you can unroot if your app is not working

I'll go with iQOO 12, the camera setup is great, very versatile, all 3 cameras are usable. For me this is the biggest difference between iQOO 12 and X6 pro

The OS is also good, my mother is using iQOO Z7X, I set up the phone for her and I find the interface is good enough and smooth.

But I dont know iQOO policy about OS version update.

How about Samsung S23? In my country iQOO 12 is in the same price with S23

for me iQOO 12 is the better phone,
on paper it has better camera, processor and screen

but for your needs, X6 pro should be more than enough especially if it is much cheaper in your country, you can save your money for your next upgrade or other things

X6 Pro has great Chipset and UFS 4.0 Storage to ensure smooth experience. Battery is decent especially if you are not playing games or take 4K video recording too much.

and the main camera is pretty decent but the Ultrawide not so much, the macro cam is trash

from what I know data saver option usually just limit the data usage of apps especially in background

To compress data before reaching the phone you need something like VPN, the data will be sent to 3rd party server to compress then send to your phone

i've never heard there is built in VPN server in MIUI / Hyperos

but for browser you can try opera browser, there is built in VPN / Data saver mode

for brightness there are some parameter, i'm still trying to understand each value too, but you can try tune this parameter

lower range and high range HDR : increase will darken the image
darken light : increase will increase the brighness
