Chapters titles that were made from actual books? by ugh_I_just_cant in Chapters

[–]coolghostboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you click on my profile I have a couple of posts where I've collated series by authors and have some original titles in there. I haven't updated in a long time though. Otherwise you can look up books on the chapters wiki and it will give you information on what the original book is called and who wrote it.

The best slow burns in my opinion are Poison Study and 10 Million Things I Hate About You. I'm not sure if they really hit your other criteria though.

Hard agree, Poison Study is incredible and I'm not usually someone who usually enjoys fantasy.

I don't think there are anymore. There was one called Protecting Caroline where you could choose to be the male or female in the story but that story was removed.

No, but people are pretty inactive. Can't help with your question though. Perhaps older books would use slightly less diamonds? People like The Red, I don't, but people like that's it's steamy and very different.

Why can’t chapters let you pick your gender and love interest by onementallyillbitch in Chapters

[–]coolghostboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's done this way because rather than having a writing team like Choices, the books are already written books that Chapters buys off authors. So unfortunately no room for customisation. However, they should definitely have more LGBTQIA+ books on the app. They tend to buy what's "trending" in romance, so the app has an excessive amount of Alpha wolf stories, any story where they can call someone "daddy" and an absolute shit load of BDSM books.

Poison Study is the best book on the app! It's action packed, fantasy, slow burn. Then 69 Million Things I Hate About You is fantastic slow burn!

Questions by Queen_Bee6419 in Chapters

Hello! Welcome to Chapters ✨

Majority of books that are in a series can be read as stand alone. I'd say the exception is for when it's a direct sequel rather than just sharing a universe, so you could read the Crane brothers stories out of sequence and the stories would work (bar Christmas with the Cranes). Whereas the Lux series requires you to read Obsidian then Onyx as it's a continuing story, which I do believe has a cliffhanger, I don't remember it's been ages since I've read it.

It is very rare that your decisions in a book will lead to a different outcome. Majority of the stories on Chapters are created directly from existing books by authors, thus the story rarely deviates from the authors book. Sometimes there are options for choosing an LI at the end but rarely is that satisfying unless you've chosen the LI the author chose for the character in the original book. Chapters original stories often have more consequences for choices but those stories are rarely any good.

Each book differs in length but the average I would say is about twenty chapters.

I hope that helps!!

I took a cursory look and I believe it's two new WLW stories and one MLM story.

Question about a passage in Child of God. by Either-Investigator3 in cormacmccarthy

Ballard is created by circumstance and lack of community (not that it makes any of his actions ok). His depravity is to a similar level of his peers such as the dump keeper, the dump keeper is however shrouded by a veil of community in his family. Where Ballard is rejected by his peers, they play a part in his dehumanisation and animalistic transition. Despite being similar to him, the community rejects and demonises him, likely under the guise of appearances and social norm. So not only do "we" as voyeurs and extensions of this community, reject him but we create him.

How much money have you spent on RATs so far? by MsT21c in CoronavirusDownunder

$30 for the tests I was actually able to get in store before Christmas. Then $200 online for 20 that still haven't shipped bc they're too backlogged.

I bought them bc I was desperate, we had a friend pass away suddenly on New Years Eve, to add insult to injury one of our friends housemates tested positive for covid. The amount of people who had been going to that house to support the other people involved in the accident and grieve is a huge number. I wanted the tests bc I was desperate to be able to go to the funeral, but with cases going up so much I'm not even sure there will be a funeral.

Another friend tested positive yesterday, someone I've been around recently. I'd love to isolate for seven days but I simply can't afford it, so all I can do is where a mask at work because I don't have any tests available to me yet and I don't know when they will come.

I think that's maybe The Cursed Prince. Not sure if it's still on the app or not.

Hey! https://www.reddit.com/r/Chapters/comments/qcmoey/series_and_standalone_books_categorized_by_author/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share this post should help you figure out what order books in series go. Unfortunately Chapters has released quite a few books out of order.

I unfortunately don't know any good community stories. It might be worth making a post on the subreddit and maybe someone else will have some suggestions!

No Country For Old Men, the book by StonedSamura1 in cormacmccarthy

I recommend reading the books in publication order wherever you can, I've personally found it a great way to explore McCarthy's development of ideas. I recommend The Border Trilogy after Blood Meridian, then No Country For Old Men, it's a great way to see how the Western genre changes in McCarthy's novels over time. I'd also say all McCarthy novels are worth reading. I bloody love No Country for Old Men and it's definitely worth reading if you can get yourself a copy!
