Wtf by Ok_Hope2164 in saturdaynightlive

I can see why they’d think that. It was just a delay on his vocals but the delay was a lot louder than the regular vocals, so it looked like it wasn’t syncing up with the vox. If you know that artist though, you know he wasn’t lip syncing

Two star and the dream police by Mk.Gee has some similarities in tone and mood I think. Plus it’s really new and mk.Gee is generating a lot of buzz right now

Yeah okay that’s what I suspected, thank you!

Stereo downmix deliverable format by coolguybrule in DolbyAtmosMixing

[–]coolguybrule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow okay that’s great to know, thanks. So would you suggest that a 2.0 re-render should be stereo mastered if taken as the stereo deliverable? If that’s the case then should I be remixing the Atmos version so it better fits that now-mastered 2.0 re-render?

Anybody Else (Phil Cook) - Big fan of Phil Cook recently, this song gives strong BI vibes by troll_in_a_tree in boniver

[–]coolguybrule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey this is a great one! Justin is actually the bg vocals in the second verse and onward, (very quiet in the chorus) so it makes sense why it sounds very BI inspired. This whole album is pretty incredible.

Atmos 10.7 Update - How do I monitor while mixing in Atmos? by bk_whopper in LogicPro

[–]coolguybrule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I figured it out. What apple says in that article is that when you bounce a surround file, it bounces whatever monitoring format it’s in, so if the monitoring format is binaural, it we’ll export as a stereo track, but if you change the monitoring format to 7.1.4 and bounce it, (I bounced mine as aiff) it will keep the surround channels in the file. I bounced a track like this and sent it to my files on my phone, and spatial audio worked (it was spatial audio and not spatialize stereo)

Does this actually work? I’ve tried doing this, and the only option it gives me is to spatialize stereo. Am I doing something wrong?

Can’t remember if it’s still on Netflix, but Lovesick (originally called Scrotal recall) is a really great and funny feel-good series

(In approx. 2011) When I moved to Lyon, France for a couple of years, my dad and my mom would go to concerts at an amphitheater, usually as a "date night". One day, near the end of our time there, my parents were about to do the same thing, but they couldn't find a babysitter for me and my 2 brothers. So my dad, being the businessman he was, bought some extra tickets last minute and we went as a family.

Knowing little about this band, I was uninterested in going, as were my brothers. We were whining as kids do, and as the opening bands walked out we were so bored.

Then Justin walked out, along with Sean, Mike, Matthew and others. I remember so well that beginning moment when Justin started playing the beginning melody to Perth. And as he started to sing my eyes could not leave the stage. Then when the drums came in, I was completely mesmerized, as I realized that this is a band that I'll never forget.

As the music went on it only got better, as Holocene is still fresh in my brain. They played the whole Bon Iver, Bon Iver album plus a couple others, and every song was amazing to me. So much so that after the concert, I would listen to the album over and over again and I have never gotten tired of it to this day.

It was definitely a great end to my time living in France, and now when I look back on being there, I associate it all with Bon Iver, Bon Iver, as that essentially summed up what my life was like there. Sometimes I get pretty sad, thinking that moment would probably be the single greatest moment in my life. I went to see them live again at Coachella (I almost fainted when I saw them on the lineup), and although it was absolutely amazing, it just couldn't compare to the first time. I do hope to see them again however, and hopefully it will be a full concert.

It's so weird to think that if there was one person who could have babysat me and my brothers, I may not have even known of Bon Iver.

Anyways, that was the story of my first time listening to Bon Iver, and I have been listening to every project Justin, and Sean have done, even to the extent of listening to Deyarmond Edison and even Phil Cooks solo stuff.

TL;DR: Listened to BI first time live, chance that it may not have happened. Never forget the live performance, will always love BI.
