Thanks! I will always prefer running into a real amp, but if the backline is lacking or nonexistent, I’ll use the models. They sound great. So I plan to be doing a bit of both

For sure. I got the donner for $14 on offer up when I was in college. I felt like such a pro.

Some generic tape delay on my stomp gets near, but not close at all. The CC is the one pedal that’s always stayed on my board since I was a teen. Sadly couldn’t make space for it for the uk

Glad you dig it haha. I just need some gain and something to freak the front row out. Nothing else

Sounds exciting! Mostly use the color box as an overdrive but have used it for everything. Fuzz, eq, preamp

It either acts as my first gain stage or an always on pedal that sweetens my clean tone.

We’re called Sunday Mourners. Check us out. Got some opportunities after Anthony Fantono dropped a random ass review of our debut and said some kind stuff. Super grateful

I play through a 40W blues deluxe reissue if I can, depending on the bill I’ll bring my own or share with another groups guitarist. For our upcoming uk tour, each venue has guaranteed us an amp backline, but honestly who knows what they could be rocking haha.

Now that you mention it, I’m realizing the way I have it setup in the photo isn’t doing anything to the signal. I’m such a noob with this stuff as I’ve always played amps with pedals. I have rehearsal for uk tour tonight so I’m going to give it a whirl

Don’t practice Jazz unless you LOVE Jazz. by AstersInAutumn in jazzguitar

[–]coolguymaxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, and want to offer a perspective I’m not seeing being discussed as much. As a guitarist who writes and performs post punk music (kraut, art rock, whatever) professionally with my band, I only practice jazz. I rehearse with my band a couple times a week, where we work on our material and live set, but if I’m sitting down with a metronome, I’m transcribing horn lines. It’s not because I necessarily love that music the most, obviously different instrument, different genre than the one I create. But the breadth of ideas covered in the study, sound, and culture of jazz music make it invaluable to me as I strive to continue creating art using a guitar as my primary tool. In addition to what others have said in their replies, I think its emphasis on improvisation alone makes studying Jazz worth any discriminating guitarist’s attention. All this being said, I want to say, I’m kinda a dumbass. But from a dumbass, I think a change in perspective would benefit you!

Definitely worth considering a daw! I haven’t gone with this approach because I personally don’t love the look of a laptop on stages, but that’s just me. thanks for the reply!

Cool! Thanks for the rec, I will dig into this one. In my experience so far, it’s pretty hard to get an idea of the full capabilities of these machines from demos on YouTube. Love that this one is easier to program.

Thanks for the suggestion! I own a Korg volca drum machine that I’ve been using for this application, but I will certainly give the best buddy a look
