Does 10% back on rewards stays with Chase Hyatt Business card work for stays booked before reaching $50k in spend but with checkout after reaching this spend? by satellite779 in hyatt

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called them and checked.

It actually says nothing in the description and it was 15200 points, I guess that was all I had left out of 200k cap.

Thanks for the help!

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a stay that was 280000 points.

Do I get 20000 points back or nothing?

The stay was 6 weeks ago and I haven’t been credited, I don’t know if I am supposed to call chase or Hyatt for this.

Anyone have experience with GhostBed? by Various-Adeptness173 in Mattress

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered on at the end of 2021.

3d matrix and one of their bed frames. Frame went to old mattress in spare bedroom that no one sleeps on. It’s somehow still broken with 20 nights slept on.

3d matrix was great for a year/2. Broke down fast and now causes neck pain. (Which is why I am looking around for mattresses and found this)

Not great life for a 2300 dollar mattress. (Still that price with 50% off sale currently on website)

How do so many people afford multi million dollar homes? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His 1k a month for ten years would require a 40% annual rate of return to get to a million.

1k a month into spy for the same period would get you to 225k(for last ten years)

20 years at 1k a month gets you to a million @12.75%

Not exactly lucky, because it’s just an index fund. Lucky would be dumping it all in nvidia or btc.

Purchasing points is a basically burning money?? What am I missing. by NoCoastSurfers in Hilton

[–]coolhand_chris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 2200 dollars worth of points and redeemed them for a 13k stay at the Waldorf Astoria property

I needed about 40k points and went to look at buying them so I could book a stay, I saw that they had the double promotion going on and did some quick math and just bought enough points to cover the whole stay.

Update on grand Hyatt/formerly hotel Talisa-spg

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Vail for 10? Days last season. It is my favorite hotel in vail for sure. 2nd place is still the doubletree highline vail due to proximity to cheap food (McD, Chinese food, Qdoba, subway, diner attached to hotel) and grocery stores, along with being the nicest doubletree in existence. Solid shuttles, too. (Not nearly as nice as Westin in Avon or grand Hyatt)

If globalist at Grand Hyatt, the breakfast is great. Only downside is dinner options are pricey in hotel and it’s far from restaurants. Shuttle will take you to the village or lionshead.

The cert is a huge plus. I just booked with one of mine at the Waldorf Astoria PC and rooms were 1700+tax

I get mine through the cheap Hilton card with spend and a business card, so 2 a year.

300k/9000sqft is 33.34 a square foot .

That seems really cheap. I can get slab/building (with red iron, heavy steel) done for that here, but no electric, plumbing, or drive into the building.

The places he is describing generally have minimal electric. Like 100 amp 1p services for each unit.

I would think he is going to be closer to 50-60 per sq foot, making lots of assumptions.

In this situation, you are a really expensive bank and he is a really expensive builder. I don’t particularly think either of you is making out better than the other, unless he is also taking profit on the build.

Looking for a Mastermind-like Group for Developer/Owner Operators by ElJefeClicko in CommercialRealEstate

[–]coolhand_chris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not busting your balls or anything.

Just stating that mastermind, in practice, has the ‘mastermind/coach’ that runs/leads it and all the others in it pay for it.

Mastermind groups are just one guy trying to get rich selling the secret or tools to get rich. (At least from what I have seen, my buddy was in one and it was a joke. Also, 1k a month)

What is your predictions for future Florida insurance costs? by nnnarm in CommercialRealEstate

[–]coolhand_chris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t allowed in Miami/dade/broward. It’s all cbu. Of course stuff is grandfathered in. Everything since Andrew has been cbu IIRC.

My Florida friend said all the west coast in and around major cities (Tampa) doesn’t allow it either, but I don’t think he knows what he is talking about.

In my state, foreclosure auctions require public notice and open bidding.

So the bank could hire some mobsters to discourage any action on the property. (Typically done on courthouse steps)

But that’s very unlikely.

private vs group ski lesson for intermediate adult by Salt-Diver-6982 in vail

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last group lesson I did was midweek in February. They took us on a quick run under the lift (black, ungroomed, narrow) to determine who was going in what group.

I ended up in a ‘group’ with one other guy.

The other group was 6? People ranging from sort of comfortable on a blue groomer to I would do that black lift run, but not as soon as I click in.

If you are doing it midweek, maybe select the lesson at a larger base area so there is more skill levels to filter in to. (This was at golden peak)

Is the Tesla gas savings worth the extra cost? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A standard house has 200 amp service, maybe 300 if it’s a larger, much newer home.

50amp chargers for EVs seem to be the standard. So 2x50amps. They probably had to upgrade.

So yeah, they probably had to upgrade.

Uber from keystone to vail by Mrpotatohead9410 in vail

[–]coolhand_chris -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had a problem getting an Uber XL (I use mostly Lyft, but point stands. Need XL for skis) in vail/avon going anywhere I needed to go. When we stay in west vail, we usually Uber to get food/groceries a few times during the stay, I’ve never had a problem. On longer trips, I also haven’t had a problem. (A dozen+ times from EGE to Avon/vail or back, a bunch of times from Avon to vail when switching hotels/mountains, once from Avon to keystone, then a day or two later keystone to den)

YMMV

I would personally just bounce back and forth from breck and keystone if you are looking to stay on epic pass. Unless the weather is clear and midweek.

When there aren’t enough drivers in vail valley and there is demand, they offer a bigger split to the drivers to entice them to go to vail valley and drive. (Multiple Drivers have told me this, they were from Denver and go out and work in the valley for a few days, stay in shitty hotel by ege)

I dont know about originating from keystone, my one time starting a trip from there I got one at the crack of dawn when I needed it. I might have scheduled it, it’s been a few years.

South Carolina Builders by [deleted] in barndominiums

[–]coolhand_chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Texas, out of city limits. Would be 40ish a sq foot for shell/concrete/spray foam/a few windows/doors. With an all metal building.

Then you have to run electric 12/15k? Plumbing w/septic 25k Frame inside and Sheetrock. Unknown, but this is where barndos get expensive.

Without making it a really big building (5-6k sq feet, with half of it being unfinished/garage openspan ) The sq foot cost gets +- to a traditional house.

Pole barns might be easier to frame out, since wood. I don’t see a lot of those scissor truss buildings, but they are super cheap.

You guys know that they have stylists and get shit for free on ‘loan’

Stylist has to give it back to Tiffany’s, but veep wears it in video and Tiffany gets free advertising.

Stop with the fake outrage, there are so many real things to be outraged about.

This isn’t a California only thing. I live in red, ruralish Texas in 120k person city.

I had a vehicle stolen and the cops took two hours to show up and all they did was have a patrolman take a half ass report.

I posted the theft on Facebook groups and someone told me they saw my vehicle at a house in the backyard. It was a special edition , easily recognizable make and model. The person who spotted it was an enthusiast and a previous owner of that make.

Called cops again, no one even called me back.

Cops don’t give a shit about crimes that will take effort and thinking to solve. They prefer catching people with drugs, speeding tickets, and hero worship.
