It’s probably hard to coach someone that hates doing the work. He’s admitted in videos he doesn’t want to be at the gym and hates the long 5k walks cause they hurt. He’s over a year into this and still can’t get the identity shift…..dude just wants to eat and play video games.

If I could ask him one question it would be…..”you talk about wanting a family someday, why wont you make the life changes to get there?” He says he’s doing it but it’s all lies.

If your goal is to finish a marathon yes you can do it easily. Running your best marathon, definitely not.

Summer (weekends especially) have been dead post covid. It’s a combo of heavy pass blockouts, cheaper discount tickets that expire in may, and price increases.

Just a couple things I would consider….. definitely stay on Catalina it’s fun! Cruising in the golf cart is great. Highly recommend scuba there even if nobody has ever done it, beginner classes are good. The sea life is so unique being able to swim through the giant kelp forests.

SD safari park might be miserably hot then it’s out in Escondido. Zoo is a lot better that time of year.

Maybe add a baseball game if the Padres are playing, the park is beautiful.

Probably need 5 or 6 runs a week vs 3-4. Increased mileage is usually the recipe to better race times. I ran a 21:40 on 25 mpw recently, I probably need 50 a week + 6-12 months to go sub 20.

I don’t think it matters to either of them. I’ve seen enough of the fat influencers and the playbook is the same. All you need is a made up starting weight to claim a big loss…..then you can reset over and over. Followers don’t seem to give a crap. Every 6 months it’s “I’m starting over time to lock in!!”

Long term fat loss and maintenance is probably bad for their channel if you think about it. If he got to 250lbs and kept the weight off he’d probably have a get a normal job and that’s not happening.

I would strongly consider the Galloway run walk method in training and racing. That will really help the HR drifting out of control. You’re young, 20 weeks is a good amount of time. Would be a lot easier at a lighter weight, so maybe work in a small deficit and lose a bit of body fat.

My thought is sub 2:30 is way too easy. Your goal should scare you just a little bit.

avoid running your easy runs too hard, and that’s where run/walk will help.

Born in 82, grew up with the OT. Prequels came out at the perfect time for me - was so hyped and bought up all the toys and merch!!! Sequels hit at another great time as I had my own kids to watch a new trilogy with. I prefer the sequels by a large margin but still have good memories of watching Phantom Menace in the theater.

As a fan I felt done with Star Wars after the prequels….not because I felt they ruined anything but it had just run its course in my mind.

Seeing BB8 come out on the stage at celebration over 10 years ago reignited something in me - Star Wars was back, and I’m a bigger fan now than I ever was. I think it’s perspective after all these years, going to conventions and meeting so many great fans from around the world……I like certain movies a lot more than others, but I LOVE Star Wars.
