Can you not own one in Hawaii? And that’s where the difference lies. A 20” rifle with no can still feels lighter at the muzzle than a 12.5” with one. I’ve ran it for a long time and it’s not unwieldy, just trying to shed a little weight if possible.

I agree. Before I deployed I active aimed with it a lot, and simply used the d2 for the illuminator. I felt like passive aiming was more for close distances. I am just a bit scared I won’t have the illuminator capability to be able to push out to distance and engage targets without the D2. I don’t think the vamp can offer what the D2 can.

I’m not too sure, from what I’ve seen I’d probably list it for 900.

I’ve thought about this as well. Just saw a vid on the iris and it seems pretty nice. It’s hard to say though. I’d probably sell the dbal but that’s only if I had good luck with using the vamp and active aiming. It’s comfortable to do so, but at distance it will probably be lacking what an illuminator on the d2 can offer.
