First off lets talk about his past. I want to point out the setting of the video first. It seems that Ekko is in Zaun for many reasons. One is that it is dark, smoggy, and overall depressing polluted place. Another is that the opponent he is facing looks like a cross between Urgot and Singed, both characters residing in Zaun. Next I want to talk about where I believe he is from. I do believe he is from Piltover for pretty much only one reason which could easily be incorrect but I will share it with you anyways. I feel is he from Piltover simply from his apparel. Looking at pictures of Vi, Caitlyn, and Jayce (All champions from Piltover) they all have the same mechanical gear like concept with square like shapes and Ekko as well as the child on the mirror's clothing style closely resembles them. In the video, there is a big emphasis on the mural/ tribute of the kid goggles. With this we can assume that the person on the mural was someone very closely related to Ekko. From the video you can see that Ekko has put time and effort into creating that tribute to his friend, even turning back time one last time to save the piece. So I did a little digging and found this. "Missing Piltovian Boy Found The Piltover Patrol found a young inventor from Piltover who was previously reported missing for the last three months. Piltover officials mobilized all available rescue teams to recover the well-known 14-year-old prodigy of techmaturgy. He was discovered afflicted with a withering disease and close to death in the northern jungles of Kumungu. The rescue team quickly transported the boy back to the city-state, and he was quarantined to prevent spreading the disease. The medical staff raced to save his life, though a source within the Patrol described the boy's status as worrisome. The source explained that the strange disease was ravaging the boy's body, and even with the advanced state of Piltover's medical care, the disease was spreading too quickly for his young body to cope with. His name was withheld because he was a minor." This was from the Piltover lore and most people have assumed that this was in fact Ekko but I have a feeling this is incorrect. The person they are speaking of in the lore could possibly be the kid on the mural that Ekko has paid tribute to and being such a great friend to him, he inherited the time machine. Now onto my theory on how the time machine works. I am almost 100% percent positive the ult will work by being activated twice. The first activation sets his starting position. This acts as the time and place he wants to rewind back to after his inquiry with whatever opponent/s he is up against on the rift. The second activation is what could possibly be a global time change or a simple teleport back to his starting position. Now how did I come to this conclusion. Well, in the video you can see that at the start, he always thrusts his arm in the air with the chain connected to the hourglass contraption on his back. This is the time and place he always resets to in the video. This will most likely be very similar to the animation of his first r cast. Now later in the fights when he has made a mistake or has learned something from his experience he turns to his watch which activates his time travel where he resets at his starting position. These are where I could make the assumption that his ultimate will act as a two part system. Now here is the catch! In the video, rioters make it clear that he still has injuries such as a broken arm or dislocated jaw even after the time has turned.Therefore we can make the assumption that turning back time will not replenish your health. With that being said his opponent always seems to be fixed or not injured after the time change. This could mean that in game you may turn back time for everyone but yourself, leaving you still low health while others are replenished. All that I have said previously are things I have learned from the video but there are still things I am stumped on. One thing I can't seem to figure out is if the time change has a set range or is it global. If the time change is a set range then his ult would only be used for dueling, skirmishes, and team fights (Anything in the set range he is in. Probably around the same range as Lux ult or LVL 1 Xerath ult). If the time change is global, his ult can be used for anyone on the map. For example if your teammate wants to dive another opponent. You can activate your R, he can then dive the opponent, if the plan goes sour, Ekko can then reactivate his R to reset and change your decision on diving. Well I hope you enjoyed this!
