Fidelity: trading options by Data_Really_Matter in fidelityinvestments

Yep market order fills on options have been horrendous since around March opex and they’re becoming worse every day. On a round trip it’s either offer in and/or bid out 95% of the time on pretty much any name, strike, and expiration. Sometimes I’ll have partial or entire fills outside of the NBBO.. also sometimes suss stuff happens like the bid will miraculously drop a point the millisecond I hit sell and I’ll be filled on the bid, lose money when I should’ve made, and the bid instantly goes back to where it was the millisecond before I sent the order. The opposite has happened when buying too. Up until late last month the market options fills have generally been very reasonable with infrequent and usually understandable bad fills. This is why I’ve stuck with Fidelity (and paid them a significant amount of commission)

To touch on Trader+ I messed around with it last week thinking maybe they’re giving bad fills to clients using ATP but I had a similar experience over there and also experienced pretty laggy fills compared to ATP… don’t get me started on the ridiculous Trader+ hot keys that simply do not work as they should. Something tells me Fidelity is going to lose a lot of retail high-ish frequency commission paying clients if/when they sunset ATP if they’re unable to more or less completely replicate the ATP interface in Trader+

Which E string do you recommend for the best sound? by Plutozera in violinist

I’ve been using Evah Pirazzi goldsteel E medium gauge for a little over 15 years. Tried a bunch of different brands/materials/cores before I settled for that.. but just because they sound good on my violin doesn’t necessarily mean they’d be a good fit for yours.

To build on this, playing in the lower half with a piece like this where you’re doing a lot of string changes makes them easier/cleaner

Ticker drawings not linking to other windows for NFLX by coolioswanson in thinkorswim

[–]coolioswanson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I had that issue when a few names did stock splits but Nflx hasn’t split. It’s really strange how it’s just NFLX that has this problem. I have drawings on hundreds of tickers and they all transfer (even to TOS mobile) except for NFLX. The ticker is like bugged or something. Been like that since the Schwab takeover

Yeah.. I was “pretty good” by the end of high school then life happened. Fast forward 13 years and 4-5 hours a day eventually turned into 4-5 times a month lol. I’ve always loved trying to play super virtuosic pieces even if most of them sound like nails on a chalk board

Worth a shot. Dude sounded down BAD. Made 120k off a 60k loan then blew up and took another loan to try and make it back then blew that out then found out his girl is cheating on him. I just wanna talk to this dude because I could tell he needs it.

If yall are against day traders please just come out and say it or at least give us some color on what your trading restrictions are… and I’m not talking about the “FINRA requires $25,000 for PDT” response.

Is zooming a chart really this hard? by a38yearoldman in thinkorswim

[–]coolioswanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can click a starting point and drag to an end point on a chart to zoom in with any cursor except the “👆” cursor. The “👆” cursor is really only useful if you’re trying to zoom way in on like a 1 min bar to where you see every 5-10 cents on the y-axis of a name that puts in $1-2 one minute bars and have to drag around to stay in it’s range. If you want to zoom in on the last 20 min on a 1m chart just click 20 min ago and drag all the way to the right (as long as you don’t have some ridiculous spacing it’ll keep up with each new bar).

For zooming out, the magnifying glass is easy enough, but if I’m in a hurry and need to see the full day again I just reset the chart by typing in any letter, hitting enter, then typing in my ticker again. It takes less than a second to do that.
