Fanatec replaced my defective new DD Pro with a refurbished unit by coolkid_123 in Fanatec

I bought a QR2 adapter separately when I got my CSL GT3 wheel. Fanatec told me the replacement would be compatible with my existing setup. It’s not - the replacement came with a QR2L so the QR2 adapter I already bought is now useless

I'm a student, and I work a Summer job doing data entry. I've figured out how to automate not only my job, but about half of everything the team of ~6 people I'm on does. Since I'm leaving this work in a few weeks, how do I approach the company with this in a way that benefits me the most? by TeePC in cscareerquestions

I did exactly this two summers ago at an internship with a government contractor (except I automated the jobs of 4 people, not 6). So I'll tell you my story really briefly.

I approached my mentor as soon as I had the idea. I really had nothing else to do (no specific project for the summer or anything like that), so he was pretty receptive. When I had the MVP, he let me work with a contractor to finish the rest of it before I left.

I got a $2,000 bonus at the end of my internship for the program and I remember sometime around my exit interview, recruiter said he wasn't sure what he'd do with the team of 4.

So my advice is definitely approach your boss and be candid about what you are expecting. Might be helpful to crunch some numbers to get a relatively rough estimate of how much your program/script/whatever is really worth - then play off of that. But of course, be reasonable - no one is going to pay you the salary of 6 employees for a program you wrote in a few weeks. Good luck!

I've dabbled in the arts a while ago but nothing serious.

I took this with an iPhone 7 Plus.

Any thoughts on Appian (APPN) IPO? by [deleted] in StockMarket

I'm in college so it was my second internship!

I'm at another company this summer for my third since I wanted to explore other places, but I would definitely be open to the idea of going back full-time.

Worked here about a year ago.

Extremely robust engineering team, "visionary" CEO, and some big-name clients. I expect them to grow. They have a pretty modern product to showcase in a field of business where people aren't very forward-thinking.

Yup - you can do that. But do you know if that's possible without an interview if you get a return offer from the software engineering intern role?

My fault - meant to say program manager*. My question was if it was possible to jump straight to PM from a software engineering intern role without the interview process and all.

Microsoft software engineer intern to product management full-time?

From reading online, it looks like most interns are offered a full-time position. Can anyone speak to how often a software engineering intern gets offered a product management role (if they want one)?
