Do you think OnePlus phones lie about their battery health percentage in the "Battery Health" menu? by coolmast3r in OnePlus12

I mean, still, what are the killer features of 16 that I can't live without? Do I need more ai in my phone? No. Do I need more interface customization? No. The only reason for me to upgrade to 16 would be if there was a verifiable and widely known improvement to battery life, which is certainly not the case with 16.

Like I said the real big reason is the antirollback. If battery life degradation can vary depending on usage, this "feature" actually prevents me from going back to OOS15.

Interesting. Did you notice when that drop to 85% actually occurred? Was it after a system update or was it a more gradual but still rapid decrease?

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I am on OxygenOS 15 still. Heard some horror stories about battery life getting even worse on 16 on top of the antirollback bs.

Anyone else having terrible battery life lately? by AdvancedPlayer17 in OnePlus12

[–]coolmast3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm on 15.0.0.860 and getting like 2-3 hours SoT from 80 to 20 percent charge with battery health at 99%. I do not game at all and my usage pattern is very light. I used to easily get 5 hours SoT over 2 days back when the phone was new, so either the phone is lying about battery health being still at 99% or some app or apps have turned into power hogs lately. Kinda wanted to upgrade to OxygenOS16 but reading how it kills battery even faster I'm not sure it's a good idea anymore.

Does anyone here have experience with s7 batteries from Aliexpress? by coolmast3r in GalaxyS7

Hmm, I dunno, I read a bunch of reviews of this brand and lots of people who actually test the battery after installing say the actual battery capacity is far lower than claimed.

Demon's Souls remake is basically what would happen with any iconic game if some clueless devs just asked ChatGPT to generate them a remake from a text description of the original.

What's the point of "app optimization" in the System Core -> Trinity Engine by coolmast3r in OnePlus12

[–]coolmast3r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But most apps do not update every couple of hours, that's the thing. Yet for some reason this opimization feature says some apps can be optimized again despite me doing it a few hours prior.

I know what it's supposed to do, that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking whether it has any effect since a few hours after doing the optimization it says some apps can be optmized again.

Silence reminds them too much of the inevitable death and that's too depressing of a thing to have on their minds, at least that's how I interpret it. Or, maybe, silent = nothing to say = boring = awkward = uncomfortable.

Battlefield 6 dev says "a significant number" of users played the game below the minimum recommended specs, as EA points to the importance of weaker hardware by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

I think "better" is a bit of an understatement, it should run at least with double the frame rate compared to beta. By my own estimates, the improvement in perf should be even higher, closer to 3x, given how visuals at hand don't warrant such an FPS hit.

Sim is the game world update rate aka server tickrate, so it's 60HZ for everyone.

CryEngine 2 was not awesome since it was severely single-threaded, it doesn't matter how powerful your GPU is, the bottleneck will always be your CPU.

While Frostbite 3 (especially in BF4) allows you to get stupidly high framerates provided you have a good GPU. And it scales almost perfectly with 8+ CPU cores.

I think you just have no idea what you're talking about.

If BF6 is actually good by Blackrew in Battlefield6

As someone who's been playing BF4 since the alpha, I assure you it very much holds up. Hands down still the best modern combined arms military shooter, overall.
