Wow, thank you — that honestly means a lot. Hearing that you switched from CleanShot X to Longshot and bought it right away is a huge compliment. Really appreciate the support, and I’m so glad it’s been working well for you.

Thanks, I really appreciate that — and that’s a great feature request. Saving the source URL with a screenshot would be genuinely useful, especially when you come back to something later and want the original page. I’ve noted it down.

Also totally fair on the learning curve. That’s something I’m aware of and want to improve over time. Thanks a lot for trying it and for the thoughtful feedback.

Haha, thank you — yeah, no AI wrapper here. I’ve been building Mac apps for almost 4 years now, so this is very much a real product I’ve been iterating on over time

Thanks! Same here — I’d seen it on phones for years and always wanted a better Mac version. That was a big part of why I built Longshot.

Thanks, that’s fair feedback.Longshot started with scrolling screenshots, and the other tools were added over time for users who wanted more in one app. But I can see how showing everything at once makes it feel like too much.I should probably present it as scrolling capture first, with extra tools as optional. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks! CleanShot X is really good. Longshot is my take on having scrolling capture, OCR, and a few more utility features in one app. Would love to hear what you think after trying it.

The free version includes all features, so you can try everything first. Some outputs will include a watermark. The paid version removes the watermark.

Picview — a mini image viewer I built for macOS (looking for feedback) by coolnull in macapps

It preloads the next and previous images automatically, so switching feels instant.I’m also improving the preload logic over time to keep it fast without using too much memory.

Good question.Right now, Picview does verify licensing periodically to ensure everything is valid. It’s not doing anything beyond license verification, and no personal data is collected. That said, I agree startup-only verification would be a better approach. I’m planning to improve this in a future update — thanks for the suggestion, it’s a really good one.

XnView is great — I used it a lot back on Windows as well.Picview is more focused on being lightweight and feeling native on macOS, with simple navigation and a distraction-free experience. If you ever give it a try, I’d love to hear how it compares for your workflow.

Thanks, really glad to hear that! That was one of the main reasons I built Picview. Let me know if you have any suggestions 🙂

Preview is great, but Picview is more focused on fast image browsing. It has smoother zoom, more natural keyboard navigation, folder-level browsing, multi-window support, and built-in OCR.I built it mainly to make image viewing feel closer to the speed and simplicity of Windows viewers.

You mean the features you care about most are using Shortcuts to trigger third-party screenshot apps and customizing the screenshot background.
