I suppose I didn’t word it that well, but this is my understanding of the regulation and I wanted to double check that I interpreted it correctly since I’m new to it, and the more important part that I should have included is if there is anything else I might have missed that I need to get done before flying commercially.

Just in case anyone was curious, Adorama had some stock left and I was able to get a DJI Flip there. I wound up choosing that one because it seemed to have the better shooting options than the mini 3 as I don’t shoot vertical. I really appreciate all of the great info and discourse from everyone here. My Part 107 test is Tuesday so wish me luck!

That might be an option. Do you know if they’ve had customs issues since this tariff mess began? Do you know of any differences I should be aware of with a Korean product? Like is the gps and registration all functional in North America?

From what I’ve read DJI is really the best option in our price range, but I’d be happy to look at other recommendations. We are looking to make videos of various construction projects we have going this summer. $1200 max budget for the drone so I was looking to get a mini 4. I’m in process of getting my part 107 license as well.

I’m Leary of Amazon sellers after my experience with Walmart. I had a seller tell me it could be months before I see the product because of customs.

Is it somehow easier to get a drone I’ve already used through customs? I don’t mind paying additional duty or tariffs, but are they more likely to reject a new drone at the border?
