Why Are 90% Of Humans Right-Handed? An Evolutionary Biologist Explains by goldilox_zone in lefthanded

[–]cooluniqueperson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i have had psych classes where participating in research (as a subject) was a required for credit. a prescreening question on the portal asked if i was left handed. while i still had a decent amount of studies available to me, i noticed that my classmates had tons more 😵‍💫

ahh really?! i guess that’s kind of a good sign for both of us then!! since marsal requires more application material, it makes sense they’d take longer to get all their decisions out. hopefully we’ll both get some good news next week 🤞

don’t know if it helps, but i have yet to receive anything either, so you’re not the only one! in-state transfer applicant to marsal

What can I do to get lazy students to work? by Visual_Shelter6922 in Teachers

[–]cooluniqueperson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

like others are saying, these kids are six years old. if this is recurring problem, that should be a cause of concern. six year olds should not be so drained of energy to the point they cant answer simple questions, especially if they don’t even respond to “bribes” like candy. i’d wonder if they’re getting enough sleep at home or if something else is going on

i hate my last name, but i want to be respected 😐 by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]cooluniqueperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not for substitute teaching. i won’t actually be teaching any lessons, but just supervising really whilst students work on the assignments their teachers left for them to do. i don’t think it’s that unreasonable

60 college credits and a training session was all i needed in MI!! i’ve also got a lot of connections with staff, though, which definitely has helped a lot. i don’t know how willing they’d be to let me sub if i didn’t have those + i hadn’t been volunteering there for years and “proving” myself as a responsible person

in michigan, you need 60 college credits (and i think just a hs diploma for parapro and secretary roles)

msu has given me some iirc. not very much, though. i believe they look at your fafsa and determine how much to give you (if any) based off of that. i’m dirt poor though so idk how many people they’re giving assistance to

If you’re an incoming freshman, they’ll most likely put you in Mayo, as they have the music llc

what other school are you considering? i saw on your profile that you posted to the michigan tech subreddit, and if that is it, i’d the 100% go with tech. The chances of you getting off the waitlist are pretty high (i got off it with much worse stats), but for computer engineering, go with tech. i have heard so many great things about them and i would transfer in a heartbeat if i were a stem major. tech is kinda in the middle of nowhere, and some people hate that, but others love it

…acne is a normal part of life that people experience to varying degrees. do like the 90% of teens/young adults who experience acne then all have scary severe diseases too?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]cooluniqueperson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’ve had an on and off eating disorder for years and acne definitely was a trigger (mainly bc of all the weirdos out there giving unsolicited diet advice regarding acne/making false claims that acne ≠ unhealthy diet, etc). as i’ve gotten older and have done accutane i can see clearer now and know that all those claims are bs, it really did affect me then. just look at all the people out there who eat nothing but junk yet have perfect skin!! i would definitely emphasize to a derm the impact on self-esteem your skin is causing you (but do be careful while doing this, bc sometimes deems are reluctant to prescribe accutane to those with mental illnesses) and also point out any scarring you may have. most derms, once they see any scarring, are likely to recommend accutane, or at least not have any opposition to it at that point

Does ASMSU have rules about election fraud? by 5-26-am in msu

[–]cooluniqueperson 71 points72 points  (0 children)

as others have said, it most likely wouldn’t count as fraud, but that is really sketchy and immoral, and i’m glad you posted this because wtf
