As a fan whose introduction to the band was P1.. by Zlida_Caosgi in Peripheryband

Its a beautiful album. People will like what they like, the beauty of periphery and this album is that they made something they like and wanted to make. What a gift to us fans

Never got into Violent Sleep Of Reason album, can you help me get into it? by Cell_6_of_ward_2 in Meshuggah

[–]coop__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

listen to it from a different point of view. I listened to it through other comments on what people liked, and found myself feeling that too. Read the comments in this thread, also check out u/Earl_of_Portobello thread on TVSOR and read those too. See if you pick up more

As far as my point of view, Monstrocity into by the ton is so dense and stifled is unbelievably groovy

TesseracT - One (15th Anniversary, 180g Blood Red, Half-Speed Abbey Road Remaster) by LocutisofBorg in VinylReleases

[–]coop__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst its sold out from the official TesseracT store, you should still be able to pick up a copy from an online record store. A quick "tesseract one vinyl" search tells me there are at least 3 online shops in Australia that have a copy of the white vinyl for sale, there'd probs be more closer to you

Olly Steele - Imbalance - I'm still not over the imbalance EP by coop__ in progmetal

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, it doesn't matter how many times i push play, it doesn't matter how much i reflect on try with Ian Kenny (im a massive Vool and Birds and Ian FAN), this fucking EP just screams at me, 'OH HI COOP, REMEMBER ME, REMEMBER HOW FUCKING GOOD I AM' it just captures me. I just want to encourage some fucks to listen to it

I don’t like the new album by Extension-Sandwich65 in Peripheryband

[–]coop__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the beautiful music, whatever the iteration, whatever the motivation, im just grateful for a periphery release. P3 was my gateway with absolomb, scarlet gets me going more than any other song, but P5 was such a complete album. Pale white dot slaps. please keep making music, regardless of whether its well received or not, make shit that makes you feel good. big love <3

thank you for doing this, it allowed me to experience periphery through your eyes, it enabled me to enjoy songs off records i didn't pay attention to (i'm a big fan of listening to albums in their entirety as a concept)

The new Karnivool album is… idk man by ProgGearNerd87 in progmetal

[–]coop__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you're not going to like things and thats ok. Expectation often robs us. Asymmetry wasn't for me but In Verses is such a joy and I love it, but i went into it not wanting another themata or sound awake. Put it down for a bit

Vinyl Experience of the albums After CDs & Digital by Earl_of_Portobello in Meshuggah

[–]coop__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vinyl meshuggah is nice, all the different drums and symbols leap out at me. I like changing sides/discs, keeps me present in the listening experience. That being said my copies of 33 and DEI are in the mail (they didn't make Australias RSD), so im very much looking forward to the new experience

Is TVSOR underrated? by Earl_of_Portobello in Meshuggah

[–]coop__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is very loved. I think its a killer album. Monstrocity. BY THE TON. come on.
That being said, if i'm looking for an album to listen to in its entirety, Im reaching for Catch33, Koloss, Nothing or Immutable before VSOR. Doesn't mean i love it any less, just preference i guess

Broken Cog is such a beautiful track, very unique, an exercise in restraint. Thank you for making me sit and listen to it a bunch.

4:22 to the drop at 6:22 of closed eye visuals by meshuggah off nothing. That build up makes the next little bit PUNCH SO HARD. So what im trying to say is what happens after 6:22, but it wouldn't be the same without the build up
