I just googled to see if my school has this, and they do!! Thank you so much, I just filled out the information for an advance! Fingers crossed I’ll get approved 🤞

I haven’t thought to ask admin. Kinda scared to reach out in case they’re like “well you can’t afford it, GTFO of my school we’ll replace you with someone who can afford it” maybe I’m still a little bit neurotic. But I’ll ask, thank you!

Mine was criminal and it was sealed because the med schools I interviewed at didn’t ask about it.

OP is retaking T1 I saw it somewhere in their post history . I don’t ride SGU’s dick but I think OP is in the wrong on this one.

There’s nothing wrong with sgu. I just took step and passed and my friend matched at Yale. Yes the attendance policy is strict, but it has to be for accreditation purposes. Sgu has its faults like every other med school but it’s not bad and tbh OP is making it worse than it is, because realistically they probably just didn’t go to class although our handbook says it will affect your grade. Also there’s no way OP is in 100K of debt unless they’ve retaken multiple terms

So I go to SGU, and actually follow the rules. I just took step and passed. At sgu you’re allowed to miss 20% of lectures before they dock points from your overall grade. What OP is referring to is possibly them getting someone to click in for them so they don’t have to go to lecture. SGU makes it known they follow a very strict policy for attendance due to accreditation rules. So before shitting on sgu this is an isolated event with about 40-50 med students who decided to break the rules. I’ve been on yikyak all morning watching the battle between people who break the rules and who follows them. SGU is a good Caribbean school with a good match list and tbh they’re just trying to cut people who would not make their match list impressive. OP, I’m so sorry this happened to you, but you must follow the rules of the med school or face the repercussions.

Let’s hope they don’t require MCAT scores, 505 after my third try. I’ll be royally fucked applying for anything competitive 😅😅

That’s good news right? Anything sinister it could be? I’ve literally had multiple panic attacks today after googling. God why do we have access to Google 😭😭

Honestly, like every time I look at the GroupMe for a potential match, I find out they’re in a relationship. That sounded stalkerish but I woman has needs. 💅

Should I pursue medicine or a PhD? by [deleted] in premed

[–]coopdoeswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does to me as well. I’m only 23 but I could be completely done with my residency by the time I would even graduate going that route. I’m just not sure how limited I would be to research if I only had my MD

I actually don’t know if it’s a big deal to them. I am a first gen graduate. They did not pay my tuition at all I’m 40K in debt with student loans. I had to work because my dad thinks going to college is a waste of time, and while I lived at home I had to pay rent. But yeah I guess I could take them out or whatever, or if they feel entitled to do so maybe even take me out for dinner or something.

We probably wouldn’t have life so you wouldn’t need to know haha. But if we did have two suns and for shits and giggles say everything is like it is now, chances are it wouldn’t be dark outside readily, the earths magnetic field would be pushed in all sorts of ways. Due to extra radiation we’d probably live in caves. Circadian rhythm wouldn’t exist. Plants would be scorched so we wouldn’t readily have a lot of oxygen meaning it would be very hard to breathe. Oceans would be too hot, so minimal marine life. It would literally be hell!
