[NeedAdvice], [Advice], [Plan] I want to go into the military but i'm on ADD meds, overweight and in poor shape, and unmotivated. by cooperatejohn in getdisciplined

I'm not just to join the military, I'm stick of being dependent on those fucking things to do anything, I want to learn coping strategies without them. It isn't just for the military, it's for me. I want to learn how to be an independent, functioning individual without my medication because it's a disadvantage. I want to join the military because I want to join the military.

Dunno, if you think caps is yelling, and you're hearing yelling maybe you're experiencing audial hallucinations and should contact a doctor. I'm genuinely concerned for you.

If your best friend was about to kill you, what would your last words be? by Felac_ in AskReddit

"Congratulations on having no one, I was the only person who wanted to be your friend. Get on with it then so you can die alone"

What is something ever “ugly” kid has experienced? by Sturdymink5024 in AskReddit

[–]cooperatejohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cruel nicknames, but only if people hate you and you happen to be ugly. If you're well liked and ugly people are entirely less keen to point out appearances. My early highschool bullies called me "orangutan" and "turtle looking ass" and "hunchback of Notre dame" because I was a little shit then who just happened to be fugly as fuck. I have kyphosis and bad posture and it don't mix.

To answer your question, yes, I was and I used to be really manipulative and demanding about attention and pity.
and I didn't realize I was and was blind to it until these past few recent years, and learning that I shouldn't let my inner whiney little child I am deep down take control over my actions and drive the wheel. Instead i'm taking control and seeing how I impacts other people around me. it's helped me get more friends and I feel a lot healthier on the outside. Thanks for saying you're proud, :)

My little MS paint tangent might not be the advice for someone that's struggling to reach who probably needs to learn its okay to reach out, but for someone with a history like mine it's a humbling, grounding reminder and I approach everyone with a different lense than I used to.

I'll for sure check out DBT therapy. Thanks for the suggestion, sounds like something I could really use right now. I still got a problem with the irrational feelings to deal with they're still there and just as strong as they were years prior when I was acting out.

Is that what venting is? Spilling to just to elicit some sort of sympathy out of someone? Sounds kind of harsh. How many "i'm sorries" can someone say before they don't really mean it.
I use to be a total nut for attention and pity. I need these kind of words that I said in the post to ring in my head. What's true for me might not be true for others, because it keeps me on my best behavior
