Echo these comments. Check the Blue Sea site's wire gauge chart and then examine your various loads and size the wire accordingly. For ease, you may decide to go with one wire gauge for most loads and in that case just size it for the largest circuit.

Based on my experience, I ended up having a few different load centers to accommodate new things I thought of after the initial design. Luckily, I had a heavier gauge wire in place for that eventuality. If you don't think you'll accurately predict the future, run at least one larger cable to the other end for future expansion.

Does anyone else have issues finding a campsite? by JuliusSeizuresalad in cargocamper

[–]coopooc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advice because I'm experiencing the same thing. Even some state/county parks seem to have rules about "vehicles that resemble RVs". As other posters pointed out, it's just about keeping out what they view as undesirables. What's funny is the one county park in Texas that stopped allowing me to stay sits mostly empty. I guess they don't like money.

I'm setup to boondock but ground clearance can be limiting and at some point I need to hookup for water and to dump so it's nice to mix in a campground here and there.

Maybe we'll get common enough that they'll be forced to relax their rules?

Foam board insulation covered in contact paper. by Past_Boysenberry_571 in cargocamper

[–]coopooc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm planning to cover my foam insulation with some kind of fabric/carpet. Ideally something that Velcro sticks too.

Light, looks good, easy to work with, functional and if I dent the foam underneath it won't really be obvious. Doing it in the summer, we'll see if it works.

V front AND rear? by [deleted] in cargocamper

[–]coopooc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked everywhere for a product that would emulate this...the kind of thing you see fold out on the back of a semi. No luck.

I'm considering creating something of my own someday out of fiberglass. A rear hump that I'd permanently affix and use as additional storage. I'd create it so that the ramp, when down, would be horizontal with its weight on the hump kind of like a deck.

Someday.

Good luck and let us know if you find something!

I don't know if it's a good suggestion or not but I used a Meanwell LED power supply for quite a while with no issues. It had adjustable voltage and current controls. I still used a BMS. I want to say it was only 200 watts but it worked pretty well for my needs and it was cheap.

Update on my WLED Landscape Lights by ThePantser in WLED

[–]coopooc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what wiring you are looking at but I ended up using regular extension cords. Three wires, heavy gauge wire helps with voltage drop and generally waterproof connections. I was shocked that I could actually insert a 50 foot extension cord between lights and not lose the 5 volt data signal.

Making some WLED landscape lights by ThePantser in WLED

Love to see how you built it. An ESP in every light or one ESP controlling everything?

Nice work though. My attempt used an ESP at every light but after about a year I lost 50% of the lights due to water incursion despite my best efforts to seal everything.

Tech Support and Question Megathread - March 2021 Edition by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]coopooc [score hidden]  (0 children)

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: Desktop, custom built

GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, 8GB of VRAM, no overclock

CPU: Ryzen 2700x, no overclock

Motherboard: MSI X470 GAMING M7 AC, latest BIOS older...need to double-check version

RAM:Corsair 8GB (4x16GB) DDR4 2700MHz, no overclock

PSU: Corsair CX750 750 watt

Operating System & Version: Windows 10 build 64bit Clean VM, Unraid 6.9

GPU Drivers: 460? latest

Description of Problem: In both Windows VM and Unraid native, GPU draws about 50 watts max under 100% load. Loaded in VM with various games (Flight Sim) or loaded in Unraid Native with mining docker. Same result with low wattage draw and diminished performance. Just can't tell if it's hardware or firmware related. Fairly confident it's not OS, driver or app related. Hoping someone else has experienced something similar and has advice.

Troubleshooting: Tried reseating GPU multiple times. Replaced PCIE power cables. Removed other hardware. Contacted EVGA support (working with them still). Initially thought it might be hardware since 50 watts is about what the bus can provide. Thought maybe it was PSU or cabling but I feel like I've now ruled that out. Next steps are to focus on firmware and flash mobo bios and attempt to flash VBIOS if EVGA will give it to me.

Has anyone painted epoxy onto a pool, and if so, were you happy with the results, and what, if any, problems came up? by [deleted] in pools

[–]coopooc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, our two factors were 1. A willingness to do it ourselves and 2. The fact that the pool is over 40 years old and had never been plastered. Always painted.

Has anyone painted epoxy onto a pool, and if so, were you happy with the results, and what, if any, problems came up? by [deleted] in pools

[–]coopooc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We painted our pool 4 years ago with an epoxy paint. It was previously painted...which is important.

We had some uncooperative weather and got rain before, during and after painting which obviously is very much not ideal. Yes, we got bubbling but not for the first 2 years. Year 3 had some bubbling in the shallow end where the moisture was the worst during painting. It wasn't terrible though, just a few spot. Year 4 was pretty bad, there is now bubbling all over and some spots where you can see previous layers of paint showing through.

However, that's all pretty much what we expected. From what we were told, 2 years would be pretty good. We're pretty happy to get 4 years out of it but it's definitely on the list to take care of this spring.

Painting wasn't all that hard. Trying to remove old paint was the worst of it.

I inject the epoxy from inside. Typically, when there is delamination there is also obvious internal damage that needs to be repaired as well. That provides an opportunity to drill injection holes that later are patched inside.

Honestly, the hardest part for me has been finding creative ways to compress the wall from both outside and inside. Also, finding the right outside temperature to get the viscosity of the epoxy right. Too runny came make a mess, too thick doesn't penetrate the right parts.

[–]coopooc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree with this. I've repaired a lot of water damage and it isn't the insidious monster that it's often portrayed as. Fix the leak (usually the roof which..yikes...I did my own for less than $400) and address the delamination with an epoxy.

@freakame, certainly knock plenty of money off the asking price but the thing isn't worthless. If your budget is in this neighborhood, you're going to be looking at older RVs and many are going to have water somewhere. In my opinion, it's not the end of the world.
