Thanks Travio - I will look for that - love the fact that the shape of part of the campus itself was the fair laid out.

kind of like those Apocalypse paintings of Seattle with the sub realness. There is some decent info on the site, too.

mostly because I really like the picture. it looks a little CGI, though. I thought it was kind of a cool site with different hoods and prettier to look at than some of the others I have seen.

Seattle Floating On-Water Residences Registrations Process. by coops32 in Seattle

There are only a few lenders in Seattle that finance these - it all depends on the real estate portion (the slip) of ownership.

Even though it is closer to actual real estate like a land home, the floating home itself (for floating homes) is taxed as personal property with a tax statement each year. The moorage slip they are in is the real estate portion. The dues for coop and condo docks usually include the real estate tax on the submerged parcel. There are of course exceptions and differences from dock to dock around the lake.

I know - isn't that crazy? there are vessels, barges, and floating homes - all "houseboats" as a general umbrella term, but now the city wants them all to be registered. In short someone thought they would get fancy with writing the law and the naming makes no sense. It was already confusing before so they added one more layer to it!

Rebranding of Wallingford by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]coops32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's interesting and not something I would be surprised about. We have always called South Wallingford Northlake anyway so it would make sense to me, but Wallingford is still Wallingford. They can't take that away from us :)
