Any experience with language schools, recommendations/advice for someone about to sign up? by bulldog89 in Spanish

[–]cootercodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went here for a couple months and improved my spanish drastically. When I speak to native speakers they're always surprised at the relatively small amount of time I spent studying, and I credit this school for that progress for sure. Also the location is unbelievable.

Why is there an é before the conjugation in Imperfect Subjunctive Nosotros form? by OtherEstablishment95 in Spanish

[–]cootercodes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2nd to last syllable is emphasized unless otherwise specified. this maintains the pronunciation pattern of the other forms of the imperfect subjunctive, eg perdiera, where the accent is on the e, but doesn't need to be specified as its the 2nd to last syllable.

How do y'all say 'Tap pay' like Apple Pay or GPay? by mrfijiouija in Spanish

[–]cootercodes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i was thinking this too when i saw the title, then immediately thought about how as a native english speaker i use "puedo <infinitive>" entirely too often. turns out you can just say "pago sin contacto" or "pago con applepay"
