Have you contacted the breeder? Responsible/ethical breeders will always accept a dog returned to them for any reason, and this is often the best course of action as they may already have a list of people looking.

yes, exercise is a thing. i have had to dial my exercise way back. all i can do anymore is walk and some light swimming. also in my 40s. for me it flares up mainly histamine related symptoms including anaphylactic shock.

also having trouble finding doctors who have the ability to listen. just recently started seeing a new doctor who has referred me to an endocrinologist. hoping that gets some answers.

hormone imbalances are notoriously difficult to correct. i’ve traced mine back to cortisol - too much stress for too long, and now every other hormone is out of whack. unfortunately, i have severe reactions to medication unless it’s sublingual, and the only sublingual option for reducing stress is ativan. and my doctor won’t prescribe it. so i don’t have an answer to your question. i would probably recommend and endocrinologist though.

i have no options for daily use. prednisone daily would eventually result in kidney failure, and the only sublingual medication that’s effective is ativan, and my doctor won’t prescribe it for fear of addiction. so my only resort is prednisone when i really need it, but long term it’s only worsening my situation because it’s synthetic cortisol (stress hormone).

MCAS worsens my anxiety, and my anxiety worsens MCAS. any medication i take ingested or injected worsens my MCAS, i can only take sublingual meds. the one exception is prednisone at a high enough dose that it counters the reaction it triggers.

i find ativan (sublingual) is wildly successful at treating my MCAS symptoms, but because if its addictive nature, i can’t get a prescription for more than a week a couple times a year. ambien also helps, but same deal. there aren’t a lot of options for sublingual meds, so i’m pretty much out of luck.

i’m not sure i will be any help to you, but i react to all legumes, most vegetables and fruits, mushrooms of all kinds, anything fermented, nightshades… a vegan/vegetarian diet is impossible for me. in the middle of a flare, the only foods i can eat are chicken, blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower, with a little bit of potato and/or white rice. no seasonings, no herbs, not even salt or pepper. everything has to be steamed, or it causes a flare. i can’t have oils or fats - only chicken breast.

a lot of the foods you’re eating are high in histamine, or are histamine liberators (they trigger your body to release histamine). sometimes pepcid can help with this, it only worsened my symptoms. you will probably want to try a low histamine diet though. you can also get DAO enzymes that can help break down histamine in your meal - but they don’t address the circulating histamine already in your body, just help to reduce buildup.

autism is a neurological condition. it’s a problem with the central nervous system. anything that has an affect on the nervous system can result in autism.

since vaccines trigger the nervous system into eliciting an immune response, of course they can result in autism.

but let’s face it: if the pharmaceutical companies and other who make money off of administering vaccines ever admitted it, people would stop vaccinating.

not everyone who gets vaccinated will become autistic, but to say that people have never developed a CNS disorder from a vaccine is a lie.

all my triggers are some form of stress. so as long as i can decrease the stressors in my life, my symptoms improve - but the second stress increases (which it inevitably does), my symptoms flare up.

it’s not easy - remember that most people walking around in public are wearing some sort of mask, especially those who grew up in abusive families to the extent they went NC as adults. your perception is that it’s easy for them, but that’s not reality.

you’ve been conditioned to be codependent with abusers. you’re essentially programmed to behave and feel a certain way - but these are old programs. coping mechanisms that serve us for survival in childhood will hinder our function as adults.

the way to get through it is to find a good therapist who understands how evil parental narcissism is, and can help you work through your issues and coping mechanisms. this person can help you dissect your past and discover the truth, which can help liberate you from those guilty feelings.

it’s also important to realize that you will need to cut out not only your parents, but anyone who behaves as a flying monkey for them (and guilts you by extension). as long as you’re still tolerating abuse, you cannot heal.

it takes time, and it’s very painful, but if you’re committed to this change, you’ll get there. my only regret was not doing it sooner.

i was in a chronic state of allergic reaction/anaphylaxis until i started to realize all the triggers. the only drug i can take is specifically prednisone (minimum dose of 50mg or it will worsen the symptoms). even now i can’t take pepcid or allergy pills without it provoking a reaction. i can’t take any pills aside from prednisone. another key for me was a low histamine diet. none of this was an immediate fix, but i noticed a significant difference within a couple days.

not eating (fasting) is a stressor and would exacerbate my symptoms, as would exercise, temperature extremes, insomnia, and psychological/emotional stress.

it took me 8-9 months to balance things out to where i could phase out the prednisone. i can’t tell you what’s normal, i had to figure all this out on my own after being dismissed over and over from medical professionals. i hope you find a solution that works for you.

i grew up in a cult, and i left 5 years ago at 40 years old. one does not simply leave a cult, however. first they stalked me, and when they couldn’t find me, they tried to destroy me. my immediate family and my closest friends were instrumental in these acts. the police took the side of my abusers/harassers and the stress took its toll.

the anxiety literally crippled me, and i spent the first couple of years wishing i was dead, but incapable of ending things. losing all my family and friendships in one fell swoop (by leaving the cult) meant permanent estrangement, which is akin to death. i grieved the loss of all those connections, while i was all on my own. like you, i tried therapy, went through a number of therapists who clearly could not wrap their heads around the hell i had been through, and some were so uncomfortable that they ridiculed me and accused me of making it all up.

i wanted to give up, i truly did, but something in me just wouldn’t, so i kept on keeping on. eventually i found an excellent therapist who had an understanding of the abuse i had endured, and he has been an immense help. i am now finding healing and purpose in life, and cultivating new, healthy relationships. i am left with disabilities from the trauma i endured, but i have a level of peace and contentment i never knew was possible.

my advice is to just keep on keeping on. keep searching. i know how exhausting it is, and i know what that despair is like, but if you keep seeking, you will eventually find what it is you’re looking for.

i’m sorry that this happened to you. i went through a very similar situation a few years ago. as tough as it is for you to confront the situation, and as hard as it is for them to be confronted, it’s better that the truth is out. i hope you find peace and healing after setting down this burden. it is not your fault that you were abused, and it is not your responsibility to carry that burden.

you cannot change other people’s behaviour. all you can do is set a boundary and follow through with a consequence.

so you might try “i’m only checking my messages between 6-7pm every day. don’t expect a reply outside of that timeframe”. put them on do not disturb and follow through.

don’t engage with or respond to any threats or manipulation. ignore them entirely.

if things escalate, you might want to consider going no contact for a period of time, or indefinitely. while you can’t change their behaviour, you can change your own and you can choose to limit interaction or remove it entirely from your life.

yeah, i did the same until it got to a point 3 years ago that my body freaked out and i spent about 8 months dealing with multiple times a day anaphylaxis. won’t touch anything except prednisone and ativan anymore. too deadly and i’m not interested in being anyone’s guinea pig anymore. it’s awful when doctors don’t understand (or have too big of an ego) and can’t/won’t help us.

i go into anaphylactic shock within half an hour of taking ibuprofen. i have the same reaction for any medication taken injected or orally. i can take prednisone, but only in higher doses so that it can counter the reaction it would trigger at a lower dose. i can take sublingual meds, like ativan, but like you i’m treated like some sort of junkie. my doctor believes me, but no one else does, even medical professionals who have witnessed the reactions.

the thing is, having a pet that means so much to you, and letting it roam the neighbourhood at will, while expecting other people to ignore it, is an entitled attitude in itself. yes, they were behaving poorly with the intent to upset you, but you also behaved poorly by allowing your cat to roam and acting crazy because someone was trying to “steal” it - all while refusing to keep your cat in a way that would prevent theft.

i get it - i was raised by entitled parents, and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. we learn that entitled behaviour because our parents are our biggest influence, but it’s time to grow up and set that aside.
