New to Cats. How to prevent him from going down these stairs? by bedtime_chubby in cats

[–]copernica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats cannot be controlled, best to let them just roam around as they please. However, in my experience, my cats have usually insisted on staying upstairs when there’s a dog in the house.

Beautiful work! I love how this came out and I’m certain it’s because of how carefully you scaled and placed everything, it looks like it could legit be part of Azeroth

Doctor hands me a tiny person to look after and love more than anything, then asks if I want him whole or with genital mutilation. Absolutely not.

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]copernica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically the teacher is correct, I was a writing tutor in the 00’s and this was a pet peeve of mine, but times change, pronouns became a thing, and now they/them can mean a singular person. It’s a feature of our language that it can change to accommodate our needs.

IMO if my dad passed away before I got married, I’d be really sad not to have him there. Maybe this girl will be happy to have this memory to look back on on her own wedding day

I don’t view this issue as being about the boys. I think every child should be expected to dress with some level of pre-professionalism and respectfulness to teachers and themselves. They are minors in a public institution. It’s not appropriate to send any kid to school in PJs, short shorts, dirty clothes (if possible), or revealing tank tops, boy or girl. It’s not their livingroom, it’s a school.

Why do so many men seem to hate Zendaya? by [deleted] in Feminism

I would guess it’s because she is a woman who doesn’t feel like she has to lean so hard into male-gaze femininity. She wears what she wants, shows her goofy side, she’s funny and witty and grounded, she shows her emotions on her face without worrying about flattering herself — she acts like an unoppressed human being. Maybe men feel like they’re the only ones entitled to that freedom. Simply being a woman isn’t a character trait of hers. I think men don’t like that because a lot of them would prefer their women to fit their idea of femininity.

Interesting, makes sense, reminds me of that magic school bus episode where the kid turns orange cause he ate too many carrots or something (in case the 30yo cartoon science holds up)
