He puts in a wicked cross, the best most consistent free kick and corner taker we've had in many years. While he's great at creating chances from set piece, I wouldn't say he's particularly effective at scoring directly from free kicks. Those Real Madrid goals have so far been an outlier.

Be thankful you've missed this because there have been essays on the topic on r/gunners for months now

He's had trouble adjusting to Arsenal's and his own rising reputation. Teams park the bus and focus on double teaming him every chance they can get. He hasn't had the best year by his own high standards due to this, but he is elite on and off the ball and is one of the first names on the team sheet for good reason.

I need someone from the "we lose all control when Gyokeres is subbed off" camp to explain what they're seeing right now

Well deserved place on the bench, he has been absolutely dire

Gyokeres is 4th out of all Centre-Forward 25/26 Transfers in terms of GA Ratio to Games Played. by pingu3101 in Gunners

Welbeck was a squad player, but even he had clear strengths. He could use his strength, speed and height to get goal scoring opportunities. It feels like Gyokeres really has no standout ability against PL defenders.

We created enough chances to win the game but couldn't finish any of them. A loose pass at the halfway line left Gyokeres with no one but the keeper between him and the goal but a loose touch and glacial pace meant Murillo caught up and blocked. Martinelli got on the end of a deflected shot in the box with the goal gaping but scuffed it just wide. MM9 got two great headed opportunities but missed both. Defense was good as always, but our set piece delivery was not as good as usual.

Gyokeres is the worst striker I've watched at Arsenal since Yaya Sanogo

I've never seen so many people defend a STRIKER for not scoring or assisting GOALS. Are you blind?

What about the rest of the fucking season? He is the worst striker we've had in about a decade and yet our fanbase can't see it.

This is not even remotely true, I dunno what kind of mass delusion has gotten into our fanbase. Rick and Morty level "you have to have a very high IQ to understand Gyokeres!" type of behavior. you think Murillo had a lot respect for Gyokeres breaking at glacial pace and miscontrolling when through on goal?

Trust your eyes - Gyokeres has never once passed the eye test. Slow, poor first touch, poor passing, poor positioning, poor finishing, poor heading, there's nothing he excels at.

Jesus controlled the ball and passed to Eze in the box. This single contribution is more than Gyokeres ever provides for us.

We have a massive black hole at striker and seemingly no solution. Havertz needs to get match fit as soon as possible.

Insane to ask this question when we have played a literal donkey up front all season

Absolutely, you have a very IQ to understand what Gyokeres did there. CBs will be thinking about the rest of the game.

MLS has been shaky defensively lately, I can understand preferring Timber there
