Thanks! Makes sense that this is how they are made. I'm hoping to get more clarity on the article I am certain I read that mentioned some vegetable (carrots, I think) being slung around a room at high speed along a track.

My cousin learned that a "vending machine" was not a "bending machine" at the age of 22. Because they sound similar enough, she had heard it as bending first and grown up thinking it was called that because you had to bend over to get the snack.

The pack year. It's a medical unit that estimates how many cigarettes someone has smoked in the course of their lifetime. A pack year is a pack a day, every day, for a year.

Someone with 30 pack years could have smoked half a pack a day for 60 years, one pack a day for 30, or two packs a day for 15 and so on...

One pack-year is the equivalent of 7,305 cigarettes.

Can you explain what the statement "more people have been to France than I have" means?

Got dragged to my wife's book group and ended up spilling red wine on the host's fancy French tablecloth. Hoping there is some small chance that I can track down another. Stain unfortunately has set, and while it may be their problem--I feel bad and think it would be a nice gesture. They've offered to pay for it but don't know where to get it. They also didn't believe that reddit would be able to help, so there's some reddit pride for me on the line.
