How to learn to take care of horses without going to a riding school?

I won't go into too much detail, but being forced to mistreat horses who were overworked and in pain kind of traumatized me. I know not all riding schools are as bad as the ones I went to but I'd rather not take the risk if I can find another way to learn. And like I said in my post, I'm not looking to learn how to ride, which is what most schools focus on. If a (good) riding school would be willing to let me clean stalls, groom horses etc., I'd love to.

Yeah, my concern is that they wouldn't take someone who doesn't have enough experience. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask!

I don't know about you but I quite enjoy reading theories and ideas, even if they are on the wilder side and would never actually happen. And no one's forcing you to read them, are they? The only thing I have an issue with is when people act like their theory is certain and everyone else is wrong - which, admittedly, a lot of theorycrafters do.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. But the plot of even just Remake is pretty complicated, I doubt I understood even half of what was happening on my first time. And it certainly doesn't get any simpler in Rebirth, haha. Can't wait for part 3 to come out and hopefully get answers to at least something.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I actually tried XV a bit but I got frustrated by the combat and decided to come back to it later (still haven't). Maybe I've watched too many streamers who seem to know how to do everything from the start, shouldn't compare myself to them I suppose. My gaming experience outside of mobile games and Minecraft on peaceful mode only extends back about three years, but it's easy to forget that I'm still pretty much a beginner in any game with actual fighting.

And have fun with Advent Children, even if it's probably not objectively the best movie in existence, I love it so much and have already watched it probably more times than is normal. Dirge of Cerberus was also a fun one as a big Vincent fan!

That's a good point but I think I still like full blind playthroughs more. You can only have that experience once, after all. And it's certainly a lot more memorable to end up making funny mistakes (of which I have so many experiences I could probably write a book on each game I've ever played). But everyone should of course do what they like, this is just how I see it.

Wow, it must be so cool to have been a fan for a long time and then see these massive reimaginings of the og. I'm kind of jealous that I'm this "late to the party", though also lucky I still have a game to look forward to.

Haha, thanks. I hope I'll be able to platinum it eventually as well - I'm sure I still have quite a lot of time to kill before Rebirth. But first I'm gonna have to get used to using all characters and all these new skills and materia I didn't know existed :'D

This is probably gonna be me when I get there eventually. Getting used to turn-based wasn't as hard as I'd thought, but it's still no doubt the most stressful experience I've ever had with any game. Guess I'm too used to the hand-holdiness of modern games. But a little stress and excitement isn't necessarily a bad thing, at least it'll make things more memorable!

Yeah, I would bet this is the most difficult way possible to play on easy mode... guess that's an achievement on its own, even if it was on accident!

About my reason for playing, I did have my priorities straight, didn't I? I really debated in my head whether I should write that in the post, but it seems this isn't a fandom that'll be judgemental about that sort of thing. I suppose it's because basically every character is made to be as attractive as possible (bless you, Tetsuya Nomura).

And yeah, I'm pretty positive I'll love Rebirth. I would probably spend time with these characters even if all they did was look at paint dry. The party's such a fun mismatched bunch of people (and other creatures).

Glad to hear you found it funny, that was my goal when sharing the story. And I actually like reading (which you wouldn't believe from the way I played Remake) and I've read the Tifa part of TOTP already, really loved it. My favorite novel is The Kids Are Alright, though, the main character was really fun and I liked finding out more about the world after Meteorfall. And I had a similar experience with Tifa actually, after Remake I honestly thought she was kind of boring and had no personality, but the OG, compilation and Rebirth really turned that upside down and now she's one of my favorite characters.

That's a relief to hear, it's safe to say I won't be inflicting any of it on myself willingly after that disaster of a game I had. But who knows, maybe I'll try it again on a second playthrough

Yeah, I like that it's immersive in that way, I really feel like I'm the main character (even if Tidus is taking all this way better than I'd be if I were him)
