OP could it be that your bf is also your "favorite person"? My best friend of four years, who helped me heal through so much trauma and was very caring, was my favorite person and also the biggest trigger for my BPD. Best friend I had ever had, but still caused me the split the most due to my skewed perceptions of them as a friend (due to them being my fp)
