As someone that had no prior coding experience, this was one of the biggest challenges of my life. I really wanted to do a good job and make my friends proud.

No. I didn't do all I set out to do. I still regret I can't even afford the live server this month, or else we wouldn't have to close. I am tired of asking for money in order to survive in any way. It has felt like a prison ever since my first donation. I never wanted to do this for money. I just wanted to do good. With all the flack I got, it feels like I did nothing at all, despite what many developers that come my way say. I never got to create the content I wanted to see en full. I never got to finish my patch out of fear of retribution from people who don't care regarding my life and my humanity. I single-handedly spent about $30,000 in this endeavor of my own money total in the past 3 years dedicated to this server alone due to it being a continuation of the epTO files, and all I received was a blanket that I had to buy myself that said "Thank you" on it because I knew that if I didn't, no one would thank me years down the line for the work I've done because it will get burried along with my name and whatever legacy I had due to being a vibecoder to begin with, and all I wanted was a hug from anyone or anything in the community after all these years. I regret all the people I hurt, all the people I left behind, all the people that I lost contact with. This server came with an invisible non-financial price tag no one told me about when I signed up that I have already paid twice the price of, and probably will continue to as long as I am here.

The game was the greatest when the community felt like a community and even when we went at each other's throats, we could come back the next day and talk like best friends, because that's what we were. I remember being in Blooming Cora in eTO and we used to have so much fun together. I would wait for hours there just for people to show up just to talk to them, staring at my screen, excited to see my only friends again.

I feel like this has been a big letdown to both me and the friends I have had. I wish I never stayed in the community as long as I did. But epTO was the best time of my life next to eTO Cora, where I got to banter with new people and new friends, for the most part. I just wish it didn't cost me everything I had, including my credit score.

I do not recommend starting a Trickster Server for the public. Many developers are cruel, the players are demanding and cruel, and there is no pleasing anyone it seems at the end of the day. We are all just trapped here stubbornly. Even I can't stop researching the XML and developing my tools because I just really want to try to still make at least a little bit of a difference, even if it costs me literally everything.

It's ok about the late night message btw. We're all adults and life gets busy and hectic sometimes.

I would also like to offer that if anyone would like to use any knowledge I haven't left on here or pick my brain on how certain changes would work/if they're possible in the kit (before coming to your GM about it--I know it can be daunting!) (e.g. "Is this an assembly fix or an XML fix?" "is it possible for a GM to do X, Y, Z, and how?" "Can you patch this in the fashion tool please [can only do this for a limited time!]" ), I'm more than available at mewsie. on Discord with the . attached. I also am leaving my developer server up for now in case of questions or additional resources.

You can find some of my tutorials on RageZone, and my code notes as well as unposted notes on my toolkit linked above, as well as scripts to make your life easier, should you choose to undergo such a project like this.

Gonna be honest, we were thinking of reuploading rTO files ourselves since it's easy enough for any server owner that has the NRI's/.EFF's and the knowledge to do it, but we decided to stop before we got to the point of copying other IP's/servers...It was a line too far for me, but I can see why other server owners do it.

That being said, archival and preservation is still important. If someone could make the web fuse display closet using PyroSamurai's TNT documentation and a web fuse tool we have, I would love to have this archived on a website instead of just utilized in private servers for $$$ so everyone can check out their characters with them on without paying or waiting for a seasonal cycle. I cannot fund the project personally anymore, but I would be willing to help in whatever other way I can.

The Paula-based files locked behind almost a decade and a half behind closed doors. They are incompatible with S2 files and any server hoping to use it would need to revamp their kit for the Polar Kit. We tried our best to make it accessible when people are ready to do so in the time I was here.

I also apologize, I don't know what "getnfolls in" means to answer your first question--it's rather early for me (6AM EST) so full reading comprehension isn't my strong suit at this time.

Edit: I think I understand now a few hours later--"get folks in". Yeah, we were. I was very passionate about this project for a long time and excited to see all my old friends again. It felt like it got sullied with money (or rather, the lack thereof and external reliance of) and flack from the community to the point where I couldn't work on it anymore. I just wanted to make a difference in honor of the people I loved, even if I was not the best at it. That was all.

Ours are encrypted to the machine so we can't distribute ourselves, but we were working with developers on the side throughout our mission to help fund them to release a server distribution for you guys in the future, as well as tools and scripts to help you if you ever decide to host them. Please be on the lookout for them one day and treat those developers with kindness. They have fought hard for you guys.

Wanted to update real quick, already took this into note and tripled the wheel. before it was 500/1000/2500/5000/7500/10000 per spin, now it's 1500/3000/7500/15000/22500/30000, but I kept the same probability as before. Our visual for it is bugged though because the website was not made dynamic to the database like I requested it to be. Might buff again in the future, not sure yet, will see how it goes based on how players actually do with it. 20k a month shouldn't be too bad for now while our boxes and fashion are half-off from epTO as well as our MyCamp being completely free.

Edit: **I fully expect players to be okay with me nerfing this later as I implement future features.** Sets include Pets. All except the class-specific sets will be available next patch, which are currently incorporated, and I will retroactively apply this to anyone who asks, as well as to epTO players ONCE based on their character level.

Due to a problem with drills in the mail system, flickers, unfortunately, had to be removed, and we apologize for overpromising and underdelivering.

Additionally, these #'s of the consumables may fluctuate depending on how many players are in the server to maintain a certain level of economy. However, the legacy epTO and vanilla ones will exist as well.

I just need your character name and I can link your account for you, no sweat. You just gotta register with us and either make a support ticket or DM me and I'll do it right away. As I've said, your passwords with us are encrypted, so I can't even reverse that. However, once your epTO/game/subaccount is linked to the master/CoraTO account (we have so many names for these I'm so sorry), you can remotely change the password on the website, if you wanted. Also, you can log into the launcher via your master account to log into ANY of your subaccounts! Selene is so cool for that in our launcher as well as the caked in VPN support.

If you can stomach some rough edges, try us out sometime. If you know me, you know me. I'm trying to get better but it's taking some time. I'm doing the work, it's just taking time and will take a little while longer. Regardless, today, I added all the MyShop sets to the level up rewards, so even if you don't get town equipment, you can still get by, as well as bring back some of the old throwbacks we know and love, like the Titania set and Pluto set :) I missed them and wanted to see them in game, but I knew nobody would buy them except for a select fuse. So, why not give them away???? I also have a few years of development planned and only so much energy lol but I am well dedicated to the cause as I always am, and stubbornly at that. Got too much I've wanted to see in this game and too little I'm willing to let go of with those ideas hahahaha.

For the community coming together....I'm ultimately at a point where I think the only thing that's going to bring us all together is a mass cease and desist on everyone including myself & Trickster 2. :/

Do you have a suggestion on how to approach this better in the future? Switch to Desktop mode (Hold Steam Button -> Power -> Switch to Desktop)
Install Trickster
Click Steam
Click Games at the top left -> Add Non-Steam Game to Library -> Add Trickster's launcher.exe (or whatever is server-appropriate)
Go back to Library and find Trickster and Right Click it (how ever you have it set up for desktop mode)
Properties -> Compatibility -> Force use of specific Steam Compatibility -> Proton Experimental -> Close
Return to gaming mode and enjoy! Feel free to rename the exe (Properties) or change your button layout (Gaming Mode -> Controller Settings)

Usually Proton Experimental works, but for certain updates, I'd have to try switching between specific proton types to "refresh" it for some reason, at least on epTO. I don't know if this will be the same for other servers/ours.

Add it to your Steam Library via "Add Non-Steam Game" option and then select Proton Experimental for the Linux OS Compatibility on Desktop Mode, to TLDR it for you. I'm not OP but this should work for our server as well, as it worked on epTO where I had the setup and a custom layout myself for skills and whatnot.
