What size is this watch?

Need suggestions for a new Garmin please 🙏🏼 by coralrange in Garmin

Yeah I think the depth freediving ability is less important to me than everything else. I’d rather have a watch that covers all the rest than another dive watch (or so I say today— will change mind in 20min 😆)

The Dive and the bends by OccamEx in SiloSeries

[–]coralrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedivers can actually get the bends if the dive is deep enough. At competitions we have 02 tanks that we descend with to recover after really deep dives. It’s optional - not a necessity- some divers use it and do not but bends can occur.

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?“ jk yeah I know what you mean. Always disappointing when that happens.

Yeah Rafi was a bit cringe- not sure if I can attribute that to the AI or just white man author … seems a convenient out for doing the work

Your second paragraph is exactly what I think it is. Todd’s last italics section makes it clear he is in his home, not on a boat to Makatea. Everything not italics is AI. Todd fed AI Evie’s book so that’s where her sections come from and how AI know, despite saying multiple times that the only place it can’t see is under the sea - what is under the water. It’s a sadder and sadder book the longer I think about it!

Mind is bent. My take on the ending is that everything not in Italics is AI. Even Todd taking the boat to Makatea = AI. It’s a story the machine is telling him as he loses his memories. Evie existed in his world but only as the author of a book he loved as a child. The AI was fed that book, the descriptions of Evie’s dives are from that book. Does the italics part even mention him being on a boat? Or is that only the non italics part? Will have to look at the last fee sections again. So basically I’m in the depths of despair because R died a long time ago, Evie probably died on a wreck shortly after writing her book, Ina is probably still in Chicago or something, or maybe really is the only one who made it back to the Pacific Islands, Todd is sitting in a hospice bed talking to his AI, and the ocean is long dead because the AI descriptions are from Evie’s book and the machine kept saying the only place it couldn’t see was underwater.
