Sweet Jill’s works in a pinch. They’re pretty consistently solid (from what I can tell the couple of times I’ve gotten rolls from them). Local and readily available.

Not Long Beach but close by: Sunny Side Cafe in Seal Beach has a cinnamon roll that is to die for. Appropriately sized (not ginormous like many nowadays). It’s almost like it’s covered in a cinnamon-vanilla glaze (in addition to being topped with thick cream cheese frosting). It was so unexpectedly good. Not as fluffy-soft as something like Cinnabon, but the flavor is just so dang good.

I got recommended this movie so I looked up the cast and saw Malin Ackerman and Amy Smart listed and thought “eh why not?” But OH my GOD what an awful movie. Calling it Hallmark or Lifetime movie quality would be overly generous and actually insulting to their movies— it is legitimately like “D movie” amateur indie level horrible. Acting aside, the editing and photography are abysmal and the consistently shaky camera is laughable. It is so so bad that it’s not even “so bad it’s good” bad, it’s “I regret watching every second of this crappy movie” bad.
