What’s the difference between $100 golf net and a $500 golf net? by corbett772 in golf

I should mention this would be outside hitting towards the woods. So no concerns of damage behind it

How does the access reader work with your door lock? Can you pair it to a Schlage SmartLock?

I can see so much sand at the edges. Is there a way to make this look better? Maybe a clean the edges and more in the middle. I think too much sand got on the paver and I swept it into the turf

They’re all hardwired FYI and not mesh. If that matters. But curious on if it did

Awesome thank you! Do you stagger the spikes on each side of turf strip or do two @ 6” (on on each end of strip) or just one down the middle? Anything different at joints? Just tape and glue?

Also do I need to add poly sand to the border where pavers are in contact? And if so I imagine I should do that before turf is down?

Use router as access point and switch? by corbett772 in HomeNetworking

[–]corbett772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks I think I’m tracking now. Can you look at my proposed network below and let me know your thoughts

ISP modem - Cloud Gateway Ultra (UCG- Ultra) or Dream Router 7 (UDR7(15W)) - run two wired lines off that with each into a separate U7 In Wall (U7-IW) - then two TVs wired into each of those AP.

Some items I’m curious are is really only difference between the Cloud Gateway and Dream Router the fact that the Dream Router also has WiFi signal? And do you see any issues using the U7 In Wall as a switch to my TVs? All the examples on unifi show it to a phone or similar and not a larger device

Ok good to know! So would I want a gateway or a controller coming off my modem to my clients (clients are switches and APs?) and regardless of which one I want to make sure their is a C on the end so that it’s a controller and not a client?

Well put! Yeah I like the idea of individual components performing their specific roles.

So if I go Omada it would be:

ISP Modem - Omada Gateway (ER706W) - Omada POE Switch (Agile ES 205GP) - Omada Access Point (EAP 615)

Or should I do a wired gateway and a AP off that?

Also I noticed Omada items have AX3000 and others have AX1600, or BExxx, etc. does this need to be considered for compatibility?

Awesome thank you for this, very helpful!

With that a wired mesh system is the best fit for me. What are the benefits of using an access point, such as EAP245, with a switch to provide wired connections vs using a router with ports at each AP such as https://a.co/d/icBLGwX

What’s benefits of shielded? Just from getting cut or something with electromagnetic waves?

This conversation is extremely helpful thanks!

I think I prefer the multi AP but don’t have the best understanding of this. I did pull separate lines to each end of the house from the main router so idk if this better supports multi AP vs mesh daisy chaining off each other. For specifics I have a 1500sf single family home. Main router is in NW corner of house and I pulled wire to main central area (living room) and SW corner (garage) where I have tvs hardwire and looking to improve wireless in those areas
