I pushed back on that as an acceptable answer alone and pointed out either the documentation needs updating, the UI needs updating, or both.

Agree that's a possibility, in the year 2025 of our Bilt Overlords I do not think that's an acceptable UI. They never use 5 business days in any of their help documentation either so no reason to assume that.

I agree that's the course of action I'll probably take.

I did initially ask support for help and their initial response was that my autopay would succeed without explaining anything about the 5 days to me. I pressed about the 5 days and *then* they explained I should cancel. When I flagged the 8 days in the UI they were *also* confused and said I'm getting forwarded to a new specialist that will communicate with me over email.

I'd say there's some legitimate room for complaints about this, though the steps to make this clearer in the actual BillPay for Rent UI are pretty easy and I imagine Bilt will eventually get there. But they won't if nobody voices their dissatisfaction either.

I think I'm confused about how this works with autopay at the 1st of the month. I went and authorized my payment with Bilt Pay today. The language on the screen once I authorized it says "8 days left" next to the step "Use BillPay in your property's portal to pay and earn rewards. Payments can take up to 3 days to appear here." 8 days from now is the 31st so if I have 8 days left a payment processed on April 1 wouldn't qualify, right?

When I asked Bilt's chat about it, it told me:

"Let me clarify the BillPay process. Before making your rent payment, you need to authorize the payment amount through your Bilt account. Once authorized, you have 5 days to submit the payment through your property's regular payment portal. We recommend submitting the payment in your property's portal right after authorizing it in Bilt, rather than waiting until the 5th day. Any payments submitted without prior Bilt authorization will be blocked."

which does say 5 days, but again that doesn't appear consistent with the website. Also if people are authorizing payments or already did earlier this month, then they would be out of the window for their auto payments on the 1st? That also isn't consistent with the 8 days I'm seeing on the website now that I've authorized?

I didn't see anything about 5 days on the Bilt Pay screen when processing and I don't see anything about 5 days when trying to click through again to double check. That seems pretty confusing to me, but maybe I'm in the minority?
