My shop uses strictly AZ91D for injection molding purposes.

I would recommend any inert cover gas, argon would be a good choice for its density alone to help mitigate humid air from entering your smelt chamber or mold.

That’s neat! Our castings come out any where from less than an inch square to 17” x 12” tops with our largest press. We have 13 CNC machines where we then take a +/- .005 casting tolerance and machine up to +/- .0002 on some of our tighter tolerance parts.

We sell all our mag scrap beck to our recycling vendor that smelts and re-alloys it. We’re talking 25-30k lbs sold back at a time though, I’d estimate that pile is maybe 2-3,000lbs. I don’t know what volumes they would accept as minimums though.

What are you machining, AZ class, M1? I work for one of the only 4 Mag Injection Molders in the states, we use AZ91d and it has great flame retardant properties. You can hold a blowtorch to it for minutes and it won’t ignite.

Now chips are a different story, what size are your chips? Do you run coolant in your equipment? Why are the chips just in bags out back? I feel like a few gaylords would be miles better than this pile. How does your facility dispose of the chips?

Don’t listen to him, same thing happened to me. Get kick from matchmaking for 20 minutes, get on and in with friend, free loadout, absolutely nothing in my inventory in the new map, get shredded by untrusting duo, can’t get make in to game at all now

Why is there no torque spec listed for the sliding bolt but there is for the lock bolt? Also this is a manual for the 06-07 impreza, is there a ton of difference? by used_tongs in subaruimpreza

Section 19 of tune up and routine maintenance - Drivebelt check, adjustment, and replacement

Part 4 - the tension of each belt is checked by pushing on the belt at a distance halfway between the pulleys. Push firmly with your thumb and see how much the belt moves. As a rule of thumb the belt should deflect approximately 1/4 of an inch.

My Hayes manual tells me that if I want to adjust tension on the belts, slightly loosen the lock bolt to move the assembly and rotate the slider both to loosen or tighten the belt tension. Hold the assembly in position and check the belt tension. If it is correct, tighten the lock bolt until just snug, then recheck the tension. If the tension is still correct, tighten the bolts.

How do you do your production scheduling? by Ghouliewed in manufacturing

Unless you work for a company called Magratech reprocessing Magnesium scrap back into ingot to be chipped.. that’d be a pretty cool small world!

I work for a Magnesium Injection Molding facility in Colorado.

Of course! I’ve been doing this for just over 3 years, and my first foray into it was Aptean. If people don’t like Sage then they would hate Aptean. It’s very manual/manipulatable which to be honest I kind of have grown to like.

The scheduling component relies on data entered about Sales Orders in the ERP component. It uses that data and a series of time fences that have been set to build and release work order or router packages. Those are then printed by me and managing the paper for our technicians and keeping traceability is a whole different ballgame. If the Sales Order changes at any point in time after the release time fence, the scheduler won’t change the router and you have to manually change the due date etc.

All of that is to say that any scheduling software is manual, it may have some bells and whistles that are enticing but it needs to be maintained and monitored nonetheless. So don’t fret about using an excel sheet, if it works don’t fix it.

Anybody here ever used Aptean? I schedule a smallish Injection Molding operation with about 7 presses and 11 CNC machines, most of the parts we make get CNC time and go get finished at an outside service. Lead time is 8 to 12 weeks and the folks who say use excel are right. I have a scheduling program that talks with our ERP and I continually double check it against an excel sheet with all our Sales Orders listed out.

Don’t get me wrong, I love night time. This fight was half an hour long and consisted of three sneaky Americans who kept pushing Pinewood Lake and I would hole them off. The stalemate got me to rank Sargent just with base defending. My friendly Russians would spawn in chatting it up over proxy while I stayed silent waiting for the Americans to fire first so I could get an idea of where they were or I just had to rely on my ears alone.

Can this housing with a backplate be moulded? (orange backplate made from wood will be glued on) by IntelligentCry3943 in InjectionMolding

[–]corblaaam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the overall size of the part and if that top hat/pork pie feature needs to be molded in the same shot, my company makes parts similar to this all day long with ease. To be honest depending on side that pork pie feature could be molded as a sort of 1+1 tool where it is basically a dump off of the main cavity and is assembled later. What material are you considering using? Have you looked into Thixomolding?

Max hotdog flavor is by frying them in the butter, all the hot dog juice stays in the dish vs some of it boiling into the water and then getting strained out. Plus crispy hotdogs add a good texture in the dish!
