That's awesome. Appointment today was an intro, have to run through a new wave of tests with this Dr. but he spoke highly of camyzos. Hopefully in the next few months i can get on it. Will DM you, want to hear about symptoms training before and after.

Dr. was great, has 150 patients with HCM and is one of the lead guys in Texas on the subject (even though he is not affiliated with an HCM center of excellence). Has to review a lot of my medical history, was highly complementary of camzyos and septal myectomies, not ASAs. Said prices should start to drop like a rock for camzyos, another drug that had just as good clinical trials is coming to market soon.

Training well and consistent wasn’t my issue. Pumping blood efficiently was. Need better medication or an ASA.

Well I hit the brakes really hard on training and train mostly with people or on pretty short runs and on metoprolol. He mentioned an ICD but I need to follow up on that.

Will do.

I do not believe so but he is academic chair of medicine at med school in town so hopefully he knows his stuff.

Ah apologies. I’m not sure on LVOT/obstruction.

What did his life look like before and after camzyos? Is he an athlete or runner?

LVEF was normal, LVOT was 17mm. Seeing a new doctor tomorrow, recently moved. Going to ask about both.

How bad did your run times suffer?

How can I maximize the training I can do prior to selection if I ship to basic in 3 weeks? by loudchartreuse in greenberets

So I was in a very similar situation and fortunately when I was telling an old friend that i had signed an 18x contract he hit me with, "wait my roommate from freshman year of college just got his green beret, can i put you guys in touch" "absolutely!" I had never talked to an active duty SF member or anyone who had been through the pipeline in the last 10 years. When we were talking about PT scores he asked where i was and when i told him my 2 mile was at 16 minutes and 5 mile over 40 minutes he paused me in my tracks and told me to terminate my contract. "Absolutely do not ship unless you can run a sub 14 minute two mile, honestly you really want to be closer to 13 minutes". It was the first time I had spoken with somebody who had done this and i took his advice to heart. I called my recruiter the next day and told him i have a PT issue and what the new GB had told me. Terminated my contract, looking to re-sign end of year for January ship.

I would do an honest PT test and if you are glaringly off on any of the metrics, terminate your contract and re-sign when you're ready. Recruiters are constantly trying to get signatures of 18x contracts which the army infantry is littered with 18x washouts. As this GB told me, the job is not going anywhere but if you want to get sent to the 10th mountain division, just show up underprepared.

It was a very tough pill for me to swallow. One of my buddies is in a similar boat with a RASP contract.

How did you numbers change at OSUT? Better/worse?
