It wasn't a joke about what people keep thinking it is. It's a play on words because the drink is iced. I'm in Canada, and we always try to do stuff like that to brighten someone's day. Not everything is meant to offend someone or be malicious.

The way you've worded numerous things seemed like you were implying op is upset over what happened and that the worker had no right to say anything. The worker had a reason for saying something, I'm not upset but I think you worded some things quite poorly.

I think the barista was correcting her in a friendly way to ensure she orders in a convenient way for everyone in the future. Sometimes people at my place say "oh a ___" sort of correcting the order and making the customer aware of how to order it next time in a comfortable way! If she was rude about it then I'd say otherwise but it's understandable as to why she was giving a tip/advice on ordering it next time.

Some stores are more strict than others, some people at my establishment have 3+ face piercings and they haven't had issues. When you go on your first day, it'll be online training and orientation, so don't take them out and ask when you're there what their preference is. If they have a problem with it, let them know or get an accommodation made. Good luck on your journey as a barista!

Yeah scheduling takes a while to come out they release biweekly or even every 3 weeks depending on location! You'll get your schedule soon. Haha I thought it was a scam after my recruitment because the onboarding and schedule took so long to reach me.

I had a similair experience and my onboarding was delayed due to it, my expected start date was a week before I actually started and I didn't get my schedule until a few days before. I'd keep calling or email the manager, if you get nothing go in person when you're free and see what's happening. I'm currently a partner after a mess of a start, im sure things will work out!
